Bra fitting help » Fit ok or is it to shallow?
Marks & Spencer » 2 Pack Padded Push-up Plunge A-dd Bras (T336977) » 30DD 30:5
This seems to be a better fit than previous styles ive tried in my new size. I think the shape is good but concerned over the depth of the cups. I feel very compressed and im wondering if they are too shallow. How does the rest of the fit look?

helpfulThe cups look flat and shallow compared to your natural shape. You could try sizing up, as a 6" deep cup seems on the small side for a 7.7" perimeter (and before someone jumps in and says BUT PEOPLE OFTEN WEAR A CUP THAT MEASURES LESS THAN THEIR PERIMETER, true, but a 1.7" difference is a huge difference in this size range, even though it would not surprise me on a person with a 15" boob perimeter.)

helpfulI agree with both of the previous comments and just want to add another method of determining if the cups are too shallow that I learned the hard way: If you find that the cups slide down and out of your IMF or if the gore is moving down, it is too shallow. It happens slowly (that makes it even more frustrating) and the bra will likely look and feel like a good fit at first. It is only after wearing for about a half of an hour or more that you will start to feel like the cups are a little low or that the gore is lower than it was before. I have had this happen to bras that I have ripped the tags off of in celebration of a great fit. Grrr... it is a real bummer. You can, however, still wear a bra that is too shallow as it is all up to your comfort level and what you want out of a bra. Just want to mention it as it is not something I had ever heard of prior to figuring out my true size.
Good luck!

helpfulAgree with wendybien - you can especially see it in the 3/4 picture, that the top of your boobs look like they're trying to escape. The feel is important, and if you feel compressed, it's usually a better sign than anything that the depth isn't sufficient for you.

helpfulAs someone in a similar size range and shape I can confirm that yes, indeed - this looks to shallow to me.
Sizing up in the cup will probably give you a bra that's too wide, too high-coverage and too close to your armpits, so I'd suggest to look for a different bra instead.
Freya Deco might be worth a try. Since you have a narrow root, the regular Deco Plunge will probably work, but maybe you have to size down in the cup, as Deco tends to run large. If you find the wires too narrow, try the Deco Softcup instead.
Apart from that, Cleo molded plunges like Cleo Koko Mode Moulded Plunge Bra (7806) are worth a try.Updated on July 2, 2016 Flag this
Thanks. That has confirmed my suspicions that its too shallow. Its a slow process but im gradually working out whats best for me from everyones helpful comments.
