Bra fitting help » Shallow, wide root bra fit check

Issue resolved
Keeping it until The Great Tissue Migration. Ended up shoving the center wires all the way down till they stopped at the armpit edge, then sewed them in place and tacked the wire channels together. Made the gore 2" tall and much easier to wear.
Original problem
First bra I could wear all day. I am 47, 5'3", 125 lb, breastfed, shallow, wide and tall(?) rooted and I think I am close set and/or conical-not sure of actual breast shape, so any ideas would be helpful.
This bra is very comfortable, the wires seem like they sit properly, I love the high wing with boning.
However, the straps dig into my armpits, and the gore is doing strange things to my soft tissue center. If I narrow the gore, the inner projection changes so I'm unsure if making the alteration would be a benefit. I'm not sure if I am quadboobing out the top as my soft tissue just molds itself and doesn't push back.Opinions? good size/upsize? change style?
Thanks for helping!

helpfulThis bra just has wide-set straps, if they are uncomfortable you may be better off with a different design--if they feel OK I think it's nothing to worry about. At 5'3" you are somewhat petite in build and the balconnet/plunge style of bra that is fashionable now features wide-set straps, so this is a problem you're likely to encounter often although some are less wide-set than others. Full-cup, more classic-looking designs often center the straps a bit more but their cut could be less friendly to a tall root.
I don't see anything weird going on at the gore. Is it uncomfortable?

I wouldn't consider this abnormal, a tall breast shape means you have tissue higher up on your breastbone so the top of the cups and gores often make an indent. If it is comfortable and you like the shape it gives under clothes, I don't think you need to change anything!

You can actually move the straps closer. You don't have to give up on the bra. Here's a good blog with info about it:

That's a great point catiebabe85 . Typically moving the straps does affect the fit a little bit though, so some people find it a little daunting (myself included even though I can sew relatively well).

Still worth trying perhaps though

the strap is sewn directly to the banding of the cup, so moving it is extra easy-zigzag stitch should take care of it, no cutting needed.
I'm actually holding off on the alteration for another couple wearings, just to make sure I really need to do it.

helpfulI've seen your other fitting requests and so far, this looks like it fits better than the first two, though the Parfait Bess isn't bad either. I think when you take your photos, the arm that's holding up the camera is pushing on the strap of the bra and causing the cup gapping on the other two, which is what makes the other two look like the fit might not be great, when in reality it probably only gaps when you hold your arm like that.
As far as altering the gore, I think that regardless of the fit, this one is the least alter-able in the gore due to the satin overlay and black stripe that runs down the center. I have this bra and it's just too many layers of fabric for you to take in easily without taking the whole bra apart.
But the good news is that if you want to move the straps in, this is probably the best bra for that. The point at which the strap attaches is indistinguishable from any other point across the top of the bra. From personal experience, I would suggest not moving them in too far (i.e. - don't move them directly over your nipples), because the strap will pull upwards just a bit in that are. If it's where your nipple is, at the fullest point of the bra, you can get a little bit of flattening effect in that area if the strap is there, and the fullest part of your bust is the area where you want that the least.

Not uncomfortable, but my soft tissue just flattens out at the top edge. It looks strange, but still mostly fits at the end of the day.
