Issue resolved
Sending back, too shallow/wires too wide. Am trying some other brands and looking at different colors for this bra that may fit better.
Original problem
So now that I'm aware of just how off the D/DD I was wearing is, I'm venturing into finding the correct size for me. Right now I'm relying on Amazon and my prime account/free returns to figure out my size without spending too much. Of the bras I've tried this is my favorite, I kept another I liked at first but now it is causing issues.
When I first got this bra, I swooped and scooped, shimmed and shaked and thought the cup too big. The straps where digging into my underarms a bit, there was wrinkling at the top, though it felt really good on on otherwise. So I ordered a 34G, which felt better overall, but the center seam was cutting in, the gore didn't tack. So back to the GG but upon further inspection the seam cut in with the GG as well.
I did noticed the wires seem to distort easily. I got an extender and that seemed to help with both sizes? Right now I'm not sure if the band is off, the cup or just shape incompatibility. I'm still figuring out just what my correct size is and I would really like to make this bra work.

If one cup size doesn't tack and the next size up does tack but it has wires going halfway round your sides, that's a clear sign of a design that's too wide and shallow for you.
Curvy Kate has apparently been working on revamping their existing designs with narrower wires. Is this a past-season model? If so, maybe the current season's version would work for you (probably in a 34G with extender).

Yes, maybe you can check out the reviews on the newer colorways?
I like CK but was not able to find a good fit due to the width vs depth issue. I'm really projected. I'm tempted to try again now but sort of chicken...

Yeah I'll look into the new colors, I just found out a local bra boutique has some CK bras and other UK brands so I'll pop into there and try some on and send this one back for now.
Yeah it probably is a past season model given the price on Amazon, and I don't see this color combo in their new season Portias. I'm new to all this but what I had read I was leaning toward the cup being too shallow.
