Bra fitting help » Gore digging in, maybe a cup too big also?

Issue resolved
This bra is simply the wrong size and shape for me, I will likely re-list it soon.
Original problem
I've been trying to pin down my correct size and measured at a 28E, so I got this bra from another bratabaser. I think this is maybe a cup size too big. Should I be trying 28DDs?
I've got a few little wrinkles at the bottom of the cup and the upper part, but the top edge is flush if not cutting in slightly. The wings seem way too wide, it rubs at my armpit area. The straps also seem crazy far apart, like they're barely hanging on. The most damning thing for me is the gore which digs in super badly. I've never had an issue with high gores before but I don't know if it's just the snugger band revealing that high gores don't work for me or this bra in particular. Should I stick to low gores?
I think the wire width is about right, but maybe the wrong shape. They seem to have an empty area at the bottom off to the side where I think my breast slopes up but the wire is very circular. It doesn't particularly bother me, but I've only tried it on for a few minutes.
Let me know if I should post more photos or information. Thanks!
tl;dr: Should I go down a size and avoid high gores?

helpfulIts a very pretty bra but I'd say the cups are too big. And the wrong shape, probably. Idk, the bra I had where the wires went too low - it was because the bra was too shallow for my immediate projection, could it be that too?

I kept the bra with the too-low wires, too. I bent the wires which helped some. And after a few wears, it softened some and I can wear it 4 hours without pain (just discomfort).

helpfulBased on your measurements, 28E should be a good starting point for you in general (30DD might be worth a try too), but I agree that this bra is too big in the cups. If it were any other bra I'd recommend trying a cup size down, but I think this may be one of the M&S Limited Collection bras that that were made in both A-DD and DD-GG cup versions which fit differently in the same size. The styles were identical, but the A-DD bras were cut wide and shallow whereas the DD-GGs were noticeably deeper with longer wires (hence the extra space at the bottom of the cup here). I tried a few from this range when I was a 28DD/E and never found anything that fit.

Yeah, I think the wires are scooting down a bit. I think I'm going to try the much recommended Cleo Marcie once Amazon gets the rest of their stock in, they don't really have any 28s right now. I so wanted this bra to work but I think it might be going back up for sale soon.

drawingdwarf about the Cleo Marcie; you are going to want a 30 band maybe even 32. But at the smallest 30 because they are super tight. I would try a 30DD first if I was you. My loose measurement is 28" and comfortable is 27" and I think the 30 band is much more comfortable than the 28. I noticed in the 28 band that I was getting stabbed in my sternum which has never happened to me before. Marcie bands IMO are so tight that I could even wear a 32 band. maybe.

helpfulI don't want to discourage but I could never make this bra work for me. In the 28F the band felt like it was made for someone who need a 25-26" band. The cups were too wide and separated for me. Also the cups were too tall for my short boobs/torso.
I like the moulded M&S bras better. They seem to be more narrow in the straps and the wires don't poke my underarms. The cup separation is closer too.
I agree with dbmamaz about the cups being too shallow for immediate projection because I used to have this bra and I am seeing the same thing on you.Updated on December 2, 2014 Flag this

Yeah, I still have this bra but never wear it. Even bending the hell out of the gore could not keep it from trying to stab me in the heart. I think I'll put it up for giveaway or very cheap soon since I bent the gore and I noticed part of the band is a little sad looking. It's just a super odd fit on me, there's pretty much nothing about it that matches any part of my boobs or torso. It's not terrible in the cups when I'm PMSing, but it's not great either.

dbmamaz Yeah, I think it's a bit shallow at the bottom. I'm wearing it right now and it seems like there's less wrinkling, so I'm not so sure it's too big anymore, maybe just a shape problem. I honestly might keep it and just bend the wires out at the gore a bit, I'll probably wear it a few more times and see how I feel about it.
