Panache » Jasmine Balconnet Bra (6951) » 32H 32:11
I think the band is a just little too loose, and the straps don't quite adjust tightly enough. Other than that, the cups fit well. This is the first bra I've ever tried with enough forward projection on the bottom panels. And I like the shape it gives me under clothes. There's a little east-west projection, but I just think that's the shape of my boobs, and it's gonna be hard to totally get rid of it with bras that have underwire. It doesn't show under clothes.
Now. I'm not a huge fan of the stretchy lace in the top panel. It feels a bit freewheeling and under-supported. I'd rather be more tightly secured.
Other than that, the gore tacks, and there aren't really major fit issues.
What do you think? Is my assessment right? Most of the issues so far seem like minor comfort concerns, but no major worries yet. It's not really causing pain. I'm not sure it's a bra for long days, but it's been okay for a couple of hours at this point.
Am I right that the next logical step with Panache would be the Floris? I've read that it's similar to the Jasmine, but with tighter upper panels.

helpfulI feel like the lack of support and sense of wanting the straps tighter likely comes from the cup volume being too large for you. Since the Jasmine is a classic I've seen a lot of reviews on it, many by women with FAR bigger and heavier breasts than this, and they don't report a "freewheeling" or insecure sensation at all... so I suspect this is a sign the size needs to be tweaked. Have you tried it in a GG?

I mean, you might not want to ask me, because I've lost weight also and most of my bras look like this right now... I'm still losing and haven't bothered to replace anything yet--I'm an embarrassment to the bra world at the moment lol!
But if I had to give an objective verdict it would be "technically too big in cup, but still totally wearable."
Being that you are very projected it's possible that the Jasmine design isn't an exact match for your proportions. It may be a little wider and a bit less deep than ideal, meaning that you have to choose between quadboobing in one size and too much room in the next size up. So it's entirely possible that the fit of this bra is the best you are going to get.
On the other hand you might feel more secure in the GG so if the quadboob isn't visible under clothes perhaps you would prefer it? At least comfort-wise. I'd draw the line at a non-tacking gore though, that always spells discomfort for me.

Quad-boobing makes bras painful for me, so I think I'm going to keep this one. It is definitely too big in the cups on the smaller side, so I may take in a little of the lace so it doesn't stretch so much. I wonder if a 30H would actually be the right size, as opposed to a 32GG? Because the band is too loose as well.
-
Or maybe I would be better off in a bra with more side support to pull me in?
-
Oh, and I even quad a little on the left side of this bra just after I scoop and swoop -- I have to pull the lace over it. I think you're right that the width and depth proportions are not exactly right. This is a lot better than most, but still a little too wide, I think.
-
Yes if you favor a slightly too-large cup over a too-small one then you are better off with this one, or else a 30HH. A 30H will just quadboob the same as the 32GG I'd think.
-
I don't know about side support, it never makes me feel more supported than a normal 3 part cup personally. I think it is mostly an aesthetic thing to avoid the east/west look but you don't really have that issue in the first place.

helpfulwendybien So, this bra has a vertical seam that would make it fairly easy to take in. I pinned it up to make the cups a little narrower. Tried to mark the altered photos in captions. Does this help at all? Note that I'm wearing it on the second row of hooks to avoid getting pricked, though I think the tightest row would be a better fit. The wrinkling is generally from the pins.

It looks a lot more supportive the way you've pinned it. The only issue would be that you need to be super careful of how you taper the fold of taken-in material at the lower end to avoid making the bottom of the cup too shallow for your breast (thus creating orange in a glass effect).
-
Yep, this is what happened on the right side. But then I got it just right on the left, so I figured out what to do... So I had to take it out -- it's almost done. More supportive, I think, than it is the way it's pinned up. I think I've almost got it the way a bra is supposed to fit.

Excellent, good for you! Hope it wears well :-)

Just finished. I added some more pictures and I'd like feedback whenever they're approved. I think it looks fine now from the front. But the side shots... My breasts are droopier than where the band sits on my back. Is that just...how it works, or is the band really supposed to be even with it? I am on the middle hook, and I don't think I want it any tighter at the moment. I am thinking of taking up the straps slightly because now I think that any support issues are from that -- it's not fully adjustable because the straps have cushiony stuff on them at the top. And I can fit my whole hand under them.
Incidentally, I think I need a cup width of about 6 inches, a depth of about 13 and a stretched band size of 32-33. I did a search on here, and that puts me in 28 bands, which is just absurd. There is no way. It would really be nice to be able to just wear a bra off the shelf though.
-
And it's also recommending a handful of Freyas, Fantasies, Curvy Kates and Panaches in 30HH. Hm... I dunno... I look at other 30s on here, and I'm not their size. Maybe I'll try it though.

New pics look good to me.
Some bras are designed w/ the band angling up like that, so I don't know if that is an issue or not=--I'm not familiar enough with this bra... take a look at other photos/reviews?
You don't want the straps tightly adjusted, especially when you have heavy projected breasts. It's not like the band--it's normal to be able to put your hand under the straps! If you can't do that, they are way too tight and will cause pain in the long run.

helpfulBasically starps are too long to adjust. when its can fully adjust short enough on your body, it will be fine. because of straps it looks saggy

helpfulI think it looks good. I think if you could lower the back a little then the straps would feel better/tighter.
Only thing I notice wrong is the back is a little higher than the front. Other than that I would keep it if it looked that good on me. Maybe a 30HH would be better if the band doesn't feel like it's going to last.Updated on November 23, 2014 Flag this

helpfulHi if you have it on the middle or last hooks(tightest) then the back is too large for you.
But i think/found Panache is a fit's or not shape esp in sculptress which have a few types seem to have wire issues and many have found that seem to A come up high and B unshape you round front/middle where it pushes in.
But the Tango bra is nice like that have a few.
but looking at pictures i'd say band is too big so not giving you enough support and straps are pulling back up.
do you only go with Panache as could try others like Elomi/GoddessUpdated on December 5, 2014 Flag this

helpfulI have a similar issue with Jasmine. I found that the frame of Panache's Dahlia is very similar, but the top is not stretchy. It may be a little less roomy than Jasmine, but could be worth a try. I found Floris to have a very generous top that I couldn't fill.

I did try it in the GG, and I got quad boob from it. I really think it's probably the stretchy panels -- and maybe the cups are too big on top, but I couldn't go down in cup size either. Does it look bad? So far, I'm still comfortable, so I'm wondering if maybe I'm just...not used to the way this fits. I don't know.
