Original problem
I tried this bra in a 30A (pics are onhere, wayy too small) and have tried it in a 30B, still too small so here it is in a 30C. I'm not sure if this is quite right though? I think all of the breast tissue is enclosed but I'm not sure if what is on the sides is fat or breast. It does gape a tiny bit where the cup meets the band. I am uploading a totally different bra in a 30C now so you can see the difference.

helpfulI agree. Size looks good, but I think you could do better in terms of shape. I personally like moulded (contoured) cups as opposed to seamed, unpadded cups. Even if you also prefer a contoured cup, you can probably find one that offers more depth in the cups. I'm also a 30 inch band, and I've had good luck with Wacoal and Natori contour cup bras. Just a suggestion

helpfulI can imagine 30C/30D might fit you. Since you seem to have a wide root you can try the unpadded Cleo styles for example. The b.tempt'd Ciao Bella Balconette, La Parisienne push up bra (removable pads), Lepel Fiore Padded Plunge, Lepel Fiore Balconette, Cleo Juna, Cleo Darcy or the Freya Deco Softcup could be a good choice for you.

helpfulI'd say this is not a bad fit size-wise, but the shape isn't ideal. It seems a bit shallow for you (hence the fact it's flattening you) and also you might benefit from a taller cup. The fact that it is contoured is always going to make it a bit harder to get it to mold to your shape; a nicely fitted seamed (unpadded) cup could be a better match and also offer more uplift.

Shoulder straps don't "wear out" the same way a band does because they are made of much tougher material, so you can adjust them pretty much as you like. If you find that having one tighter than the other is causing tenderness, wearing a pad or "chicken cutlet" type thing on the smaller side may solve the problem by allowing you to have even strap length.
I will take a look around at nursing bras and see if I see any in your size range. It sounds like they could be a good option for you as they are specially made to be comfortable!
Thanks Wendy, for your help on this and the betsey Johnson demi bra. I definitely prefer wireless bras as I am quite ill and often just in bed, but its very hard to find them in my size and actual bras, and not just a totally unsupportive pretty lace thing, which is usually just sizes xs-xl anyway! Let alone that doesn't cost a lot and actually fits properly. I definitely gravitate towards plunging/low coverage styles too. Your suggestion on the BJ bra for nursing bras is really interesting - especially given my poor health I am constantly tender all over. I've adjusted the straps on this bra significantly, moving them upward (so looser I guess? But the straps were falling off my shoulders and this corrected that) And it has helped a lot. There is still a bit of gaping where the top of the cup meets the strap when I bend or am laying down, but overall I think the bra fits pretty well and I need something so I think I'm going to keep it while the search continues. I actually have the straps at slightly different lengths, is that okay? Also is wearing a brand new bra with the strap adjuster thingy so high up okay or does that mean as the bra stretches it won't last me as long? Sorry for all the dumb questions and thanks so much for all your help!
