Bra fitting help » Wires hurt, tight band, full on top?

Issue resolved
Tried it with an extender. Need band size up and possibly a cup size up.
Original problem
Based on some recent research I believe I'm full on top and maybe have a shallow root? I tried a couple other bras and they seemed either too closed on top or they were too shallow for me. I decided to try this after many recommendations but idk where to go from here. This bra seemed deep enough. The band seemed way too tight, the underwires were hurting me from how tight it was, it even left marks. After scooping and swooping I still had some tissue that didn't wan tot stay in the cup and I feel like it flattens me out a bit or maybe it's just the shape it gave me. Should I go for a 30D or is this bra not right for my shape?

helpfulYes, I would definitely get a slightly looser band. You are very thin like I am...people who have a very little body fat sometimes need bras with looser bands and underwires that don't come up quite as high in the centre. Definitely go for a 30D and try a 30DD just in case.
The shape of the Cleo Marcy looks to be great for you. You may find that a looser band (and possibly a slightly larger cup) will make you happy. If the wires still hurt in the centre gore area, try bras by b.tempt'd.

helpfulit looks like the band doesn't stretch long enough to accommodate your comfortable rib cage measurement- can you try it on with an extender? if the band is too tight, it will distort the cups to be wider and also cause them to dig in from the pressure.

Tried it with an extender, definitely much more comfortable but still does not fit correctly.
I will post another fit request with updated photos. I think I possibly could use a 30D? -
im glad the extender works! i would say a 30D is a good starting point, but a 30DD may also be a good possibility like Saskia_C suggested. try them both if you can :)

helpfulWires hurt beacuse they are lying on your breast tissue. the cups are too small and narrow. You need 1-2 sizes bigger like 28E or 28F but anyway this style is not the best for you breast type.

Seems more like a shape mismatch than size. Marcie is actually good for shallow breasts, but it appears that the OP requires taller wires than the bra offers. Remember not to ignore the complaint of too tight band. Too small cups cause discomfort, but not the same type that too small bands cause. Furthermore, look at the wire distortion. That's quite a lot for a smaller cup (bigger cups distort more easily).

it's definately the size! This bra looks really tiny and flattering on topicstarter's chest. And if you look at her profile, she tried many bras in D and DDs and none fit.
-
I agree with fain - it looks like the cup is cutting into her breast tissue - needs a bigger cup but not with significantly more volume (could handle a little more volume - slight quad-boob effect in this one). The back of the bra looks like it's sitting too high - would suggest pulling it down and loosening the straps - you may find that that alleviates a lot of the digging that you're getting (as lower on your back is narrower)

Don't be afraid of letters! Try at least 30DD though 28 will feel comfortable when the cup is right.
It may seem to get better with an extender but the wires are still lying on tour breast tissue which is dangerous for your health! -
I honestly think that a 30 if it ribs a bit tight will be better than a true to size 28. Women with smaller breasts don't require the same tight support that those with heavier breasts. In this particular bra I wonder if a 30D will be better. You can see how distorted the wires are in this particular model in a 28 band. Distorted wires often hide the chest size cup or a too big cup.
-
Jillsas, I can't agree about support. it doesn't matter how heavy are the breasts it's just about how sensitive they are. I've seen women with enormous breasts running without a bra and feeling no pain. And the distortion of the wires depends more on the material they are made of and on this parricular photos I can't see where are they distorted, they just seem very rough and inflexible

The wires of a bra shouldn't be pointing as far back as they are in the photos of the side shots, as I said earlier that's fairly unusual for a bra with the right band size. How can you be so sure that it too tight band isn't because 28 in the Marcie is actually too tight? Furthermore, OP days that it fit better with an extender. Believe me, I know all too well what a bra with a too tight band does to fit. Even though I'm not in the same size range, I still recognize these issues.

I am 100% 28 band and I tried many sizes. I even wore 34B once because 32 started to feel too tight (as I understood later, it was because the cup was 3 sizes too small and it looked a lot like topicstarter's pics) The smaller the cup, the tighter feels the band (just because the underwire cuts into breast tissue and there are fat rolls everywhere that should actually be in the cup which is just too small to contain them). That's why it feels better with extender - the underwire is not cutting into your flesh that much. And it is also not an underwire pointing back, it's an empty part of fabric without the wire inside.
-
I understand what you're trying to say, but the corollary of that is that the bigger the cup, the looser a band feels. It's really easy when you first start to get into to fitting to lose support when you go up to too big of a cup size in a band size that would be too small in a cup of the right volume (sorry if that's confusing). In unbelievably common. I have permanent scars from that mistake.
-
I don't quite understand how did you get those scars. But breast tissue on the photos starts around 2 cm away from the underwire and it is well seen in the armpit. In the way it is now it can even hamper the lymph efflux which is a right way to the breast cancer. I believe the wires should be as wide as they can be at least for the breast health.
-
Could you cite at least one scientific paper saying that wires sitting in a particular location cause breast cancer? I'm a scientist and a skeptic, especially when the claims have to do with health.
As for wires being wide, I lose support with wide wires because that is a too cup size and it's much more uncomfortable to wear too wide wires in a tighter size to get the support that I get in a bra with narrower wires in a larger band size.
As for scar, that's the wrong term. Permanent discoloration is more accurate. This is what I mean: http://i3.minus.com/jbuI5dCTEdbfdf.jpg (warning NSFW) This is me after being braless for 36 hours.

I don't really see any scars, it looks more like regular marks from clothes which are usually gone in some minutes but can stay for a longer time on people with edema. You may be taking antifertility pills or eating too much salt or something like that causing the edema so this marks are not eternal.
It's not just the wires that can cause cancer. Everything preventing the lymph efflux can do this because it is lymphocytes who fight cancer cells that appear in our bodies all the time. it is well known. So the way from the breast to the armpit where lymph glands are located should be free!
You lose support beacuse you have very projected breasts. But this rule doesn't work with tall and wide breasts with less projection like author's.
