Bra fitting help » 28D Masquerade Rhea quad-boob & empty gap/uneven cups

So this is my second try in my newfound quest for a properly fitted bra. It was shown as similar in measurement to Panache Andorra, which is my first/only bra that fits me currently. The center sits right, the band is comfy, but something is just odd with the cups. My left breast was almost spilling over, but my right breast barely filled the top of the cup.Can someone help me out with what may have happened here?! I don't think it's from having wonky boobs or anything because the Andorra cups evened out.I'm just not sure

helpfulYes I think while your smaller boob is shallow enough to technically fit in there, these cups are way way small for you. Depth isn't everything. If you look at the 3/4 angle picture you will get a great visual of the real mass of your left breast vs. the amount that the bra covers... this is BARELY cupping the bottom 30-40% of your boob!
A lot of petite ladies get stuck on this idea "I have small boobs so I must need a really small bra" when in fact their breasts are really not that tiny, just not very projected. So while you do not need a projected ("sticking out") cup, you do need one that is larger than this in both height and width. A good everyday bra should contain and support a solid 70-75% of your breast tissue (a bedroom bra, or one that goes with an evening gown might support less, but they are not intended to be worn more than a few hours at most).
Look at the horizontal perimeter of your breast listed above, and compare it to the depth of this bra. Even the other bras you have listed on the site are in the region of 6 or 6.5" depth in the cups. A bra does exert some compresssion so you probably don't need the full 9.8" but you should definitely be looking at cups that are more in the region of 7.5, 8 or even 8.5" in depth. You want designs that suit shallow, tall breast shapes, which fortunately are fairly common in your size range since this is the most common breast shape for women with your build and breast size.

Pretty much. Shallow means if you look at your boobs from the side, or from above, they don't stick out very far--instead, the tissue is pretty well-distributed over a tallish and proportionally wider surface on your upper torso.
With this shape, you want to look for bras with cups that are cut wider, taller and closer to the body (again this should NOT be confused with cups that are small in volume; you can have narrower, shorter, deeper cups that are the same volume as a wider, taller, more shallow cup).
Typical shallow-friendly shapes include half cups with vertical seaming (as opposed to the 3 part cups that stick out further) and many, many of the molded and contoured cups that are on the market today. Another popular choice among women in your size range is the type of shallow-cut, molded balconnet or molded plunge bras that Cleo makes, like the Cleo Juna, Cleo Maddie, or Cleo Neve.
In terms of the size that will offer the right dimensions for you: SOME bras will be big enough in a 28D or DD, but I think in most designs you will need at least a 28E or 30DD. Be attentive to measurements though because cup sizing is particuarly inconsistent at the two extremes of the band sizing range (the particularly small bands and particularly large bands). Some brands run so tiny in your size range that you'd have to go all the way to a 30F or 28FF to get the volume you need!
I'd advise you to do a search by measurements here on Bratabase with the following data:
A starting depth of 7.5" (you can see how that fits and adjust up or down if needed)
A starting width in the region of 5.3 since the above bra seems almost wide enough for your larger boob (if you enter this Bratabase will show you stuff that's a bit wider and a bit narrower)
A stretched band length of 28" or thereabouts-- if you find that a little tight, as lean-torsoed women often do, try 28.5 and again Bratabase will display all bras that measure between 28" and 29".

wow! 28E ! Or F!!
I ordered from Mimi Holliday last week in 28D ( I read that they changed their sizing up a cup,so I was worried but maybe that will be a good thing for me?). I've never tried those bras. I also ordered two Freya's in 28D - Cary's (says it's a 3 part cup..dang!) & Piper balcony bra. Now I wish I had waited to order those..I was certain this must be my size! I just checked my receipt actually it looks like they're (Mimi Holliday) sending me a 30C accidentally. Oh boy I'm a mess. I really wanted the Parfait by Affinatas but I really need to figure out what my best size is first. Maybe I'll poke around the listings on here for those Cleo's ,in a size bigger than D. It's so strange to me though because I feel like I just barely was able to fit into my Andorra..When I searched the measurements I got all 32 bands but I'll keep looking. Should I search each measurement separately or together? (is that a dumb question I'm sorry..my brain is so confused).

like this,it has similar measurements but that cup looks so big to me!?

Also,I was wondering why you suggest those measurements ( depth 7.5", width 5.3") when my Andorra that fits is depth 6.4", width 4.5" ?
Sorry again for all my confusion!

helpfulIt's a bit more structured in shape than the Andorra, and as with moulded bras, if your boobs aren't exacly the right shape and size, there can be gapping.
The Andorra cups are taller as well (your roots seem quite tall) so that could be another reason why it fits better than this one.

helpfulMaybe its me, but those cups look too low on you. I feel like if something fit me like that, my nipple would be popping out! Finding the right shape is so challenging - i'm sitting here envying your height (because I'm really short and pretty much my entire ribcage is boobs) but at the same time I can see that it gives you different sorts of challenges than I have in finding bras. I guess its hard to find 28s in a store to try on?

helpfulAny time you have one breast that is smaller than the other, it's going to be tricky. My only suggestion is in the future, try to find bras that fit your larger breast really well. If there is a gaping in the cup on your smaller side, try getting removable bra pads that you can just insert into and remove from bras at will.

wow thank you everyone! that's really interesting,so when you say 7.5" or 8" in cup depth is that still in the range of 28D or should I venture into a new cup size ? I ordered a 32B 'comfort bra' that's on it's way, they had no more 28D's so I looked up my sister size and it said that was one. I don't know how that works either really but we'll see, never tried that size.
dbmamaz no,I don't have access to shops with 28's.
I've been mostly eyeballing balconette /half cup type bras because for most of my life I could never fill out any bra on top (is this what shallow means? I can't seem to grasp that term). Thank you for all the input. I'll look up bras that are good for shallow, tall types! I'm excited to hear its common because I was really starting to feel like an oddball.
