Bra fitting help » Wrong style or just wrong size?
Gorsenia » Cappuccino Soft Underwire Bra (K022) » 70E 32:5
Issue resolved
I understand better now why this style is wrong for me. I will definitely be finding wider wires from now on!
Original problem
Yikes! So I took a shot in the dark ordering this one. I was so excited to get it too! Then the moment I saw it I knew it was wrong. I don't fill out the top of the cup at all and the sides push out a lot of bulges, it doesn't come up as high as it should on the side I think? Do you think I could have success in a different size? Or is this bra just the wrong shape for me completely?

helpfulI think you are 50% on your way to finding a great match for you. The only things I see wrong with this style are cups are too narrow, wires are too short but, the cups only bag up when you're not standing straight.
I could see you in a Curvy Kate Daily Boost or Curvy Kate Smoothie bra. And a 30 band maybe, unless your prefer 32 bands. I also could see you in some Ewa Michalak bras. Make sure the band and cup measurements are good for you. They sometimes vary in sizes (sizes that are the same).
I wish I could fit into this bra.
It is so pretty on you especially in the first picture.
I'm not picky so I would keep it, just in case you lose weight anywhere, or your boobs shrink and/or get more narrow.
I read that you should never wear a too small cup because it's not good for your boobies. A lot of women on bratabase are more of a perfectionist than I am, as far as thinking a bra fits.
So good luck.
I just thought of something else I wouldn't of even known that the cups were too narrow or too short by looking at your picture. But you thinking that is more a comfort thing for you.Updated on December 10, 2014 Flag this

IDK........EM bras, I read tonight that they run wide in the cups. From what I've seen, I think they run medium, but other women have actually tried them on. So I would believe women on here if they say that Comexim runs narrow and EM bras run wide. I know someone will comment on EM bras on here to help you. If you comfortable measurement (not exhaling or inhaling) is 30", then you would probably be most comfortable in 30-32. You can check out measurements of bras before you buy them on here (bratabase). That cool about Bratabase, most women measure bras and put the measurements in. Not all unfortunately. :) But a lot do. You can research bras (measurements and reviews) here before you commit to buying/trying a bra.

Yess... from now on, I'm definitely checking measurements here before I order instead of going "well 32DD i guess."

This might be good. It's not really baggy or tight on top of the cups. Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) » 30G 30:9, 32FF or 32F in this bra would probably work for medium to wide roots.
70E is almost the same size as 30F. So that might work too. :) -
CK Daily Boost is a really tricky fit, I wouldn't order it unless you can absolutely send it back gratis. The shape on this one is wrong, no point trying another size. Difficult to know what to suggest without knowing what else you have tried. Definitely look for wider wires, having too narrow wires is one of the few no-nos of bra fitting, it kinda damages breast tissue.
EM wires are average in smaller sizes, narrow in larger sizes (cup especially). I believe Comexim are narrower and more uniformly narrow.

joanna1970 Thanks for your advice. I didn't know that about damaging the tissue! Yikes. I went to the mall today and got a couple Wacoals and a Chantelle Rive Gauche--those are more full coverage and they feel sooo much better.

It's not like it causes cancer or anything, but any bra that is pressing on breast tissue - wires, push up padding, too small a cup - can soften and distort tissue, and many people find that when they get into the right bra, they gain a cup size or two quickly, or over a few months. This seems to indicate that tissue has been pushed out of the cups and it only returns when there is space to do so. Hence slightly too wide wires are always better than slightly too narrow.
Not many women absolutely need full coverage bras - they tended to have been developed to make up for boobs being in too small a cup, the increased coverage helps squish the boob. So in the right size and shape you should be able to find 3/4 or even half cup bras that support you enough for day to day stuff, and look cute :)

helpfulFrom what I see, the cups are too tall for you (see the gapping where the strap meets the top of the cup? That's a cup height issue), and the band is too tight. I feel like if you wanted to try to work out this style, you should go up in the band and down in the cup (I also see some wrinkling underneath your right breast in the first photo, which indicates that the bra might not have enough lower depth projection for you, which can't really be fixed by changing sizes - it's a style thing).
Anyway, I vote for band size up cup size down, or just ditch it all together - which is a shame because this is a really beautiful bra.

It is really beautiful D: but looking at the cup while I'm not wearing it, I think you are right about it not being deep enough. I think this one just isn't for me.

I will definitely check out those Curvy Kate models! I've been thinking about going down to a 30, should I try a 30E for those then?
And I've heard Ewa Michalak tends to have narrow wires, would that be a problem for me?
