Issue resolved
Fit is comfy so bra is kept.
Original problem
This is the closest I have gotten to a fitting bra, and I wanted to see if I could find more that would work for me. I am short rooted, projected, pendulous, and average to narrow (I think).
The cons on this bra are the fact that the gore doesn't tack (by only a finger's width (best yet!)), but unless the cup is projected enough, the gore is low enough and close enough I tend to not have gores that tack without swimming in the rest of the bra. The cups fold over the underwire, which is staying where it should be. I also am on the 2nd hook for this bra and I could probably go to the 3rd, but it's okay on the 2nd. I tried the 36H, but it was definitely too small.
Pros are comfy. So very comfy. I can wear it all day. I have a nice rounded shape in it, cleavage and the cups are not in my armpits. And the gore almost tacks.
I know I am probably a difficult fit, and I don't think I will find my unicorn bra and this will work for now. And it is much better than my molded 38FF (38H US) Cacique I have been wearing (No tenderness in the gore area).

helpfulLooking at your photos you seem to have FOB and shallow on top boobs ( I am also fob and don't fill out the top of most bras) You might try going up one cup size then the gore should tact. You might also try a 36 band and go up two cup sizes and try a bra extender.
I to am still looking for the perfect bra fit!

You might go to Butterfly Collection .com and ask for fitting help. They were a great help for me.

I think I've commented on this elsewhere :) but I think the short root is the issue, not necessarily that you are FOB. You may actually be even, FOT, FOB, but the short root gives you gapping up top.
-
I agree, and you most definitely have commented. :) I was recommended to post a fit request here for short root. I think I was also hoping for recommendations. The wires on the Chantelle fit so much better than anything else I have tried yet....

helpfulDo you have access to a department store that sells a few other Chantelles? If the C Chic, which is a bit shallower and wider, fits you ALMOST-perfect in a 36/85H, I would recommend trying some of their other deeper unlined styles in the same size, such as the Rive Gauche, Cachemire and so on.

Do those recommendations apply if this one is a plunge? The gore measurements look high and wide in comparison.
-
Yes definitely. I suspect many of your non tacking and gore height issues are due to bras that don't have enough depth for your inner fullness. You're not insanely close-set or anything. Several of the unlined Chantelles have really great depth near the gore and are totally worth a try. The Rive Gauche is too tall for many people but also still worth a shot especially if you can just try on in store, at no expense. Cachemire and similar styles are just nice and deep everywhere.
-
I'll see if my Nordstrom has it, then. If not then I can use Shoprunner and Bare necessities.
-
ETA we have quite similar proportions if you wanna look up some of my photos. Look for obscure bras like the Prima Donnas and Lejaby, my photos are usually the only ones so you can see it's me.
-
amazon usually has almost everything (free exchanges and returns yay!)
-
Amazon is using bare necessities anyways so I might as well get my 20% off with Shoprunner and
it is free 2day shipping and free return. What about the TShirt? Or should I stick to the unlined ones? -
Okay wendybien, I went to Nordstrom and asked for every Chantelle they had in 36H, 38G & 38H. Went into the dressing room with 7 bras. 3 Rive Gauche in those sizes, 3 C Magnifique in those sizes and a Rive Gauche TSHirt in 38G.
None of these bras had enough center projection for the gore to lay flat. The TShirt was comical. i did take pics for all of these I will upload in after I process them.
Quick and Dirty:
Rive Gauche 36H: Band was too tight, quadding out of both cups and gore didn't tack.
Rive Gauche 38G: Quadding a bit out of the cups, starting to see space where the strap meets the cup and gore doesn't tack.
Rive Gauche 38H: No quadding in the lower part, can't fill it where the cup meets the strap at all, and gore still doesn't tack.C Magnifique I couldn't fill out any of the top part of the cups where it meets the strap in any size and gore didn't tack. 36H band was good. 38's I took pics on the loosest but I would prefer it tighter. Also gore didn't tack.
Rive Gauche T Shirt was terrible.
Should I still try to order in some more Chantelle?

Oh dear, I'm glad you got a chance to try the Rive Gauche but as for the others, I should have been more specific... The Chantelles I'd advise you to try are the uber-traditional seamed, unpadded 3 part cup styles like Cachemire, Pont-Neuf or anything comparable from previous seasons that you may find on sale. There is a continuity style called Amazone for example that is kinda tall, but some people love the fit as it is so deep. I have seen killer deals on it occasionally in 36-38 band sizes.
Seamless and t-shirt bras are a hot mess on people with inner fullness. "Comical" is exactly it... I have literally burst out laughing at the sight of my boobs in this kind of bra. I believe the C Magnifique is also supposed to be a minimizer meaning it basically doesn't tack on anyone and is pretty uncomfortable... I tried it once and it turned my front into a kind of spread-out wall of boob that covered 2/3 of my torso.

Will look for those. (removed link as the pictures were rejected)
Just went with what they had, because all I lose is a little bit of time for a lot of comedy.
-
I'm glad I'm not the only one who laughs at bad fitting bras. I know a lot of people get sincerely upset about it and then I can't say how funny I find my own reflection in that situation because I feel like it would be insensitive!
ETA I feel like I ought to specify I am never amused by OTHER people's fit problems. Only my own. Maybe I'm a narcissist but my boobs crack me up sometimes.

After trying a fair amount of bras (in probably the wrong size) I've gotten a sense of humor about it. My husband on the other hand, is like "More bras?!". I did end up picking up a Cachemire, Pont Neuf, and a Merci through Bare Neccessities via Shop Runner. 2 day shipping and free return! And 20% off! Oh Amex, how I love you (it sizzles). I also have some Cleo Lilys coming as well. Tomorrow!
What I really want is a projected half cup..... I loved the way the half cup Freya's looked, even if they weren't really the best on my shape (stupid soft wires falling down all the time).
-
Whee!
I would also love a projected half cup. I am now almost down to a size where that exists outside of Poland... buuuuut not quite lol. I still look hilarious in most half cups.
I had no idea how good I had it when I was a 32E! Half cups galore.
-
I do have some Comexim plunges coming, so I hope they work. Went through Wellfitting.
-
So the Lily's didn't work.... Looked good in the cup, wrinkly along the top and gore was too wide that tall, so it tacked along the smaller breast and layed on the larger.
-
Sorry to hear it! Cleos never fit me, no matter what size I am. It's annoying since they are so often recommended for people with unusual fit needs.
-
I'm so glad you didn't go shallower, you need short and projected. I do think Polish will be your best option.
-
I will get there soon, I think. I will feel better once my Wellfitting exchange happens. Right now, if a bra is comfortable with a good shape, I will keep it.
-
The 36 band ends at FF, and I tend to swim along the sides in bigger sizes. This is the biggest I can get in this bra that reasonably comes close. The 36FF I tried was perfect but the cups were to small.
