Bra fitting help » Seem cutting in

Issue resolved
Decided to keep it as the in cup quad isn't very visible under clothes.
Original problem
As 65F was too small, I ordered one in 65FF, and it fits in the cups, but the seem cuts in and I'm not sure if it's because the bra is faulty or the model doesn't like my boobs. I can't remember this happening in the smaller size, but then I was more focused on the quading.
The cutting in is acctually worse than is visible in the pictures (i took them with the ipad and didn't manage all the angling)
Is there anything I can do about this, or should I return it?

helpfulI think this generally occurs when you have too much center fullness for a bra. Are your boobs more full in the center? This happens a lot with Cleo bras, as many of them have a heavy center seam. Unfortunately, if this is the case, I don't think sizing up will make all that much of a difference. It may be an issue with boob incompatibility. Which sucks, because it looks like it fits you well otherwise. If it's not visible under clothing, than I'd say keep it. But if it is, I don't think there's anything you can do about it.

helpfulWell, to be perfectly honest, part of me wants to blame the bra because I have NEVER seen this happen with very high-end bras, only with mid-priced ones or the ones made by small brands like EM (technically still a small business despite its high profile). A truly top quality bra should have precise enough cutting and seaming, resulting in perfectly calibrated tension in the fabrics and seams such that this would just never happen.
THIS BEING SAID.. it obviously does happen, and when it happens it's not just one faulty bra, it's just how that model is made. In my experience it can be down to several things, two of which seem particularly possible here: 1) the cup being slightly loose on you, meaning that there is not as much surface tension on the fabric between the seams, so if the seam is a bit tight, it will cut in all the more easily; and 2) simply an issue of unfortunate placement of the seam. Particularly if the seam crosses your breast on the upper half of the areola--on many women this is the part of your boob where the SKIN has the least surface tension so it is a particularly soft area and most susceptible to seams or other bra features cutting in.
I know you said it was worse than the pics show, but have you tried on a couple tops or dresses to see if it is visible when you are clothed? It is still a beautiful bra, I'm not always a fan of the EM aesthetic but this looks really pretty and elegant.

It's basically just loose at the point where the band metes the cup because I don't have much outer/upper sides of my boobs (i had to do a strange pose when I was taking this picture, so the visible looseness is because of that I think). But i will try it under clothes and see what happens.

I have that really bad on my 32HH - Cleo » Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) . People were calling it in-cup quad-boob. I really like my marci but I can only wear it under thick sweaters because its really obvious under clothes.

Staaldrigstill I would only wear this bra if you are comfortable in it. It matters how it looks, but if your uncomfortable then it doesn't matter. :)

dbmamaz The in cup quad boob is the same as what they call Cleo speed bumps and George wrinkles.

helpfulThe Czarna Mgiełka series is prone to cutting in. I had similar issues with the 3DM version of that bra. Seems like the lace trimming at the top seam is too rigid and doesn't work with breast shapes that have some fulness on top.
That being said, other 3DMs (like the Margot) worked just fine on me. Just look for styles that do not have this lace trimming.Updated on December 13, 2014 Flag this

It's not the lace that's cutting in, it's the vertical seem on the cup, the lace is fine. The Margot works really well for me as well :)

Oh I see, I wasn't aware of that. So you're experiencing the dreaded 'incup-quadboob' in brafitting-terms. ;)
Maybe it'd help to stretch the seam gently when the bra is wet. I don't know how bad it is (you said it's even worse than in the pictures), but this often helps with this issue. -
Ah, smart! I'll try that! If I decide to keep it at least.

helpfulThis happened with me with my cleo lily. When I first bought the cleo lily it fit fine and this didn't happen but when I gained a couple pounds and the bra got a tad small I got the in cup quad. Weirdly I didn't get much quading above the cup when this happened. It might be worth trying a size up, it looks great on you other than that though.

I'm definately center full, but this doesn't happen in my 2 cleos, this is acctually the first time. It fits well otherwise and is so beautiful that I'd be very sad to let it go... I haven't tried it with clothes yet, so there might be a tiny bit of hope after all :)
