Issue resolved
Pulling up the straps actually seemed to fix the wrinkling.
Original problem
I've had this bra for about two months now and, while it's better fitting than any other bra I've ever had in my entire life, it's not quite there yet.
When I first got it, I was used to wearing a 36 band and the 28 band felt unbearably tight. The gore also dug into my sternum something awful, right at the top of the wires. But with some wear and washes (and wire bending), those problems have disappeared. However, other problems haven't.
Currently, the straps feel too wide for my frame. They dig into my armpit/sideboob area uncomfortably and the only way to remedy this is to loosen the straps more than they probably should be loosened (the issue IS the width, not necessarily the tightness). Clearly not ideal. Also, I'm not sure if you can make it out in the pictures, but it seems as if the wires might be a bit too wide for my boobs. The main problem, though, which you can see pretty well in all the pictures, is the wrinkling at the top of the cup. I also get some slight gaping at the top when I bend over or lie down. I'm not sure if this is a soft cup issue (I've always worn padded until now), a size issue, or a shape issue.
The thing is, I don't know if my boobs are full on bottom or not... I've tried to figure it out, but I just can't peg it down with confidence Even if I was FoB, I don't know which style of bra is best for that shape.
If it was simply a size issue, I'm guessing I'd probably need to go down a cup, to 28G? Or at least look for a bra that doesn't have quite as deep a cup. Should I be looking for bras that have the same general cup depth as my breast perimeter? Is there anything I'm missing? Any suggestions on where to go from here?

helpfulSo what I think I'm seeing is that the top of the cup is empty because you are definitely NOT full on top. OTOH, the angle of the top of the cup looks like it might kinda cut in? Like you might be tall at the top (but shallow)?
I cant see how much extra width there is on the outside - black bras are hard to see. Can you guess? Because by the numbers, the bra looks a little big - the cup depth is bigger than your perimeters.
Curvy Kates do (in my experience) run wide. But I am not near your shape or size and dont have enough experience to make a good suggestion. But i would probably look for a different shape before trying this same bra in a different size. 28s are pretty hard to find in a store!

helpfulIt looks like the wires are too wide, definitely, and there is a bit of wrinkling at the top of the cup. I have the same cup-width and armpit-digging cups issue in about half of my bras, which are generally 28Gs with a few 28FFs, 30Es, etc sprinkled in. Like dbmamaz said, you look FOB (like me) and seem to have tall roots (unlike me). I would try another shape personally. Not to say that you'll never have success with a wider-wired bra, but in my experience there are just certain bras that will wrap halfway around your back and others that will come right next to where your actual breast tissue starts-- it really just depends on the bra and the style. Try, try, try, until you find what works for you! Best of luck
Oh, and for whatever reason, it seems that most of my G-cup bras seem to have ridiculously wide wires, but the F and FF cups I have are so much more suited to my petite-ness. Go figure.Updated on March 5, 2015 Flag this
