Bra fitting help » First time attempting an accurately sized bra, but it feels too tight?

Issue resolved
I am going to go with a different style bra. This one was not quite right for my bust shape. Thank you everyone who made suggestions!
Original problem
I'm not sure if I'm just not used to bras that are properly sized, or if this really is too tight. It feels normal when I'm walking around, but as soon as I go to lay down it's kind of uncomfortable. The gore sits a lot better than it does on my other bras, but it's tilted towards my larger breast and rises just a bit off the sternum. My boobs are uneven so there's always a bit of muffin boob on one side and gaping on the other. I read that this one ran small, so it's ordered a cup size up (32GG as opposed to just 32G), which I think helped because if it was any smaller it would definitely not fit at all.
I'm thinking of returning it and attempting to find a bra that I can wear around the house comfortably. Is there such a thing as a supportive bra that's comfortable? Should I try to break this one in? Any suggestions greatly appreciated, I'm desperate to find a bra that I can relax and sleep in.

helpfulIt is DEFINITELY possible to find a bra that is comfortable and supportive at the same time! Don't give up! (For sleep, many people prefer a soft cup bra though, btw.)
This could be too tight for you, or it could be another part of the bra (other than the band, I mean) that's causing discomfort. Here are a few troubleshooting questions:
When you feel tightness or discomfort, what area of your body do you feel pressure? Is it in places where the underwire sits on your body (sternum, front of ribcage, under armpit where the wire is)? This may be indicating that the problem is a case of too-tall wires, or a too-wide cup.
Or is it an even pressure/discomfort all round your torso? Does it make it difficult to take a proper, deep breath? If the pressure is even all round and is felt as a compression of your whole ribcage, then it is likely you need a larger and/or stretchier band.
Is it a skin-level irritation or soreness? Some people are more sensitive to rough trims and fabrics. You can also have a mismatch between your proportions and the bra's, causing the band to reach high enough on your back or sides to dig into squishier parts of you, thus causing skin irritation.

helpfulI love my Charlotte, but if it had been the first properly sized bra I'd tried, I probably would have run back to my huge-banded VS bras and been afraid to try again.
If you want a comfy, around-the-house, lying-down bra, the Charlotte is one of the last bras I'd recommend. It's a seriously industrial-strength bra despite its adorable retro pinup look and the band in that color runs quite snug. I'd consider it more of a date-night bra even if you went up a band size.
If you want to try again, I second the suggestion to go with a 34GG, but don't expect it to be a forget-you're-wearing-it sleep bra in any size.
Sadly, I'm still looking for a comfortable, around-the-house (although not sleep) bra myself.

See, even as I venture in to buying 'real' bras I cant imagine wearing anything around the house other than my decent exposure bras. they can be fully customized and they are almost the only bra i've worn for 25 years.
I was recently told to look for specific bras for specific purposes - so one for fun, one for practical work wear, something else maybe for around the house.
I've been seeing some of the same quad on big side / gap on small side and crooked gore, but havent found a perfect bra yet.

helpfulit looks like you would fit better in a 34GG. This current size looks a cup too small on you on your larger side. This peach colorway is the old version of this bra so if you decide to try the new color(wine) you may do ok in the 32 band because they have made the band a bit bigger, but they have made the cups smaller. so you would probably need a 32HH/or 34H.
However, going up the cups is not going to change the width of the gore . this bra may not work for you if the gore is a source of discomfort.
Having said that, this bra really is not a sleep bra. I wish I could tell you a good supportive sleep bra to wear around the house but i am currently looking for an affordable one as well.
**edit** I meant to say going up the cups will not shrink the gore width.

helpfulThis is a shallow shaped bra with a wide wire, you have narrow and projected boobs. Use the database here to find narrower wires, Cleo Lily is a good one to try. Going up a size in this will only make the wires wider. The band feels tight because the cups are big enough, try it on backwards and upside down, a more accurate reflection of band tightness.

Thank you! Sorry for the incredibly late reply. I couldn't find my way back to this website for the longest time lol.
I believe you are correct, this bra was the wrong shape for my bust, I'll try something a bit different in the future.

I definitely believe I need a stretchier band but it is also an issue with the underwire being the wrong shape.
Thank you for all of this info! This is very helpful for future reference.
