Bra fitting help » Band too big, cups gape, too projected for wideset breasts?
Parfait By Affinitas » Charlotte Padded Bra (6901) » 32E 32:6
Issue resolved
I returned the bra.
Original problem
Uhhg, I think I need to stop buying 32 bands. I read that the Charlotte runs tight in the band, so I thought the 32 in this case would work well. However, I have my whole fist under the band in the photo, and that's with fastening on the tightest row of hooks.
What size would be better? Usually the 32DDD cups are perfect and the bands too big. I tried a 30F in the Freya Deco and had gaping at the top, so I thought that size was too big. 30E in the Freya deco is okay, but doesn't quite encompass my whole breast.
Also, is the Charlotte more for projected breasts? Does it run narrow? I was thinking that might be why I got the gaping at the top.

helpfulIt doesn't really matter how many limbs you can fit under the band... it matters that it stays put! Does it? If not, size down, if yes, then you're good.
This inconsistency specifically with the Charlotte's band, in my opinion, is simply down to the fact that they they put 4 hooks from GG cup on up, 3 hooks for cups FF-G, and just 2 hooks for cups F and under. Even if they are cut the same length to begin with, the wider (4 hook) bands fit significantly tighter on the body because they have a lot more resistance, whereas with just 2 hooks it's not a particularly tight fit.
Cup-wise, this is 8.5" deep and your boob perimeter is 8.0, so it's a bit too big for you in the cup. Try 32DD or 30E.
I think the reason you have room to spare is that your natural shape is close to the shape of the cup, which is shallow at the center and offers more room on the outside. This bra design is popular with people with much fuller, center-heavy, projected boobs and the sheer amount of breast tissue on them makes them less shape-compatible with this bra's construction, so they are often forced to size up to avoid quadding.

Ohhhh, got it. That makes sense--4 hooks vs 2. And thanks for permission to stay with 32s, lol! I'll try a 30 in something at somepoint. For now I'm happy with the 32s.

helpfulI have the Charlotte in that same colourway. The band was *super* tight. Of late, I've been doing well with 38G, but I bought this in 38GG and I don't think it's particularly narrow, nor is it particularly deep. My feeling is that it works well for more shallow breasts.

helpfulwhen i tried the Charlotte i my usually 32D that i wear in Parfait, i got major quadboob but and empty space at the apex of the cup, so it was too deep for me.
i tried a size up in the cup, but the cup came up too high and cut into my armpit...so maybe it's just a shape issue, that style may not be the best shape for your body type??

Aha! Now I understand the super tight band.
