Issue resolved
Sent bra back to be exchanged for a Freya Patsy in 30E
Original problem
Ok, I think I'm getting close to a well-fitting bra. This one seems to be a bit big in the band and cup. I can fasten the band on the smallest hook and still have lots of stretch. Doesn't ride up but I'm concerned that it won't take long to as it wears. There is a bit of gaping at the top of the cup. If I S&S and stand up perfectly straight I JUST fill it but any movement means it gapes. I've never worn a wired bra for more than 5 minutes without wanting to rip it off out of extreme discomfort but this bra seems to come close to the mark. No pain on ribs under the breasts. Gore sits flat which feels a bit weird as it's an unfamiliar feeling and is a bit pokey. Is the gore too tall perhaps? A tiny bit too tight on the other end of the wire under my arms but this could be remedied with a bit of wire bending maybe? Now, if I go down a size in band and cup would that be a 30E? Will one cup size down be enough given the amount of gaping and how much will going down a band size affect the cup fit?

helpfulI would first try a 32DD and 30E (if you have to order online and can't go into the store, I agree 30E is better as you can use an extender if need be) before drawing conclusions about gore issues. A cup that is too tall or too big can cause gore pain on many people. Example--I have NEVER had any sensitivity in the gore area, I can wear bras that others find really awkward in that zone, but even I will feel pain if I'm in a cup size that is too large, because my boobs aren't providing the necessary "pushback" against the top of the cup if it's not filled.

helpfulI think if you go down to a 30E things will be fine. 30E is one band size and one cup size down from 32E. I think that if you feel like the underwires poke you too much at the sternum, you might wanna look at bras whose underwires don't come up high at the gore. I see that the gore height for your bra is 2.5". Most of my best fitting bras have a gore height of between 1" and 1.8". You might wanna search around for bras with gores that are shorter.
