Issue resolved
advice considered, using as is
Original problem
No issues, but I'd like to know what others think. I think the fit is very good for me. Yes, as usual, the band is tight, but not so tight I can't deal with it.

helpfulYou said it yourself -- the band is way too tight. It's affecting the fit.
Also, the band is way too high in the back. Loosen the straps, then pull it down and keep it there.
I think you'd fit really well in Curvy Couture bras.

If you pull the band down in the back it's going to make the cups more closed on top
-
That's ok if it makes the cup more closed -- she's got plenty of room, and it's a stretchy cup.
re it being straight across -- why you're right it already is!!! however, on this particular person as with anyone whose roots start very high on the ribcage, it needs to be not just parallel but actually lower in back.
-
what about those of us who are short with very low root? I swear every wire seems to be hitting the bottom edge of my ribs, which hurts. :-(
-
really almost anyone runs into the risk of underwire hitting rib because there are so many different factors that can cause it -- for example, in addition to what you are experiencing, boniness, a rib right under your breast, needing to wear a very tight band, etc can all cause discomfort from wires. This is something bra companies need to work on!!! Victoria's Secret and similar offer things like gel-wrapped wires, which NEEDS to happen in the full-bust world. Panache Sport is my #1 rec for this as everything on this bra is cushioned (for sizing on this bra, go down 1 or 2 cups from your regular Cleo/Panache size and sister-size up in the band if using as an everyday bra rather than sports).
Otherwise if you are handy you can sew a layer of felt or something else soft onto the inside of the wire channel, or use a bra liner.

I dont mean a rib, i mean all the ribs, at least near the center. there's only about an half inch from the bottom of my breast and the bottom of my rib cage, towards the center

dbmamaz I don't have any fat on my ribs so sometimes, when I'm skinnier, I need an extender. And sometimes when I get bloated I can wear really tight bands and it feels ok.
-
MmeKristine you can use an extender until the band stretches out a little bit. If you would feel more comfortable. When I look at the side/front of the cups they look like they are going higher.

helpfulI think you called it in part: the shape seems to work for you, but the band is too tight. Can you try sister-sizing up into a 95 E? I disagree with @melfish about the band being way too high. It seems that it is sitting level with your cups/all the way around and that it is an appropriate level in relation to the bra. If your breasts start higher on your chest, your band sits higher in the back.
I think the 95 E might be the way to go, especially because it seems to give you a pretty good shape with your shirt.

As explained elsewhere, I'm currently losing weight so I'm gonna stick with this band size.
I'm pretty sure that my inframammary fold is indeed higher up on my chest wall. It's kinda hard to miss, and I know the band/underwire is not sitting on breast tissue. Yes, it does look too high in the back, and I can certainly pull that portion down some, but then the band wouldn't be parallel to the floor all the way around.
Compounding the whole fit issue is, of course, the quantity of adipose tissue, which makes it difficult to tell exactly what's going on, and it certainly detracts from my appearance.

I would only pull the back of the band down if it makes the band/cups more comfortable. An extender would help too.

helpfulI think if this bra was looser it would be a pretty close call.

are you sure its too high in the back? it really looks, from the side, like the band is straight across. I know it looks too high, but is it possible thats actually the right place on her? and I'm really asking because I dont know
