Bra fitting help » I'm thinking maybe an increase in cup size.
Chantelle » Pont Neuf 3-part Cup Underwire Bra (1381) » 90F 40:6
Issue resolved
Looks good as is.
Original problem
In general, I like the fit of this bra. At the moment, I'm experiencing some definite breast size asymmetry, with my left breast considerably larger, so most fit considerations are with respect to the larger boob. There is some slight wrinkling, but not enough to cause me concern.
As you can see from the angle poses, my left breast fits quite well in the cup, with the neckline lying nice and flat on the upper slope.
My only real issue is the possibility that the cups are too shallow. The gore, on the left side in particular, is starting to pull away from my sternum, and the cup itself feels like it's stretched kinda tight, and I've been thinking about comments made about my other Chantelle bras, that perhaps I should size up to a G cup.
Anyway. My other thoughts about this bra: Extremely comfortable. I can easily wear this all day. I like the shape it gives me. Looks like crap from behind, as all my bras do. But I generally don't wear clothes that fit that closely, so I don't worry about it. I feel very well supported and I love the side-band sling that comes up right under my arm to the strap. I think the wire width is good and it wears very well under clothes. After all, it's not like I have some very special woman who's going to see me in my bra!

helpfulIt doesn't look too shallow to me... I think the reason the gore is not sitting completely flat is that this (like most unpadded Chantelle designs) has a very narrow gore whereas you have more separation. Sizing up in the cups is not going to help with this. If you like this particular bra, and I personally would say this is a very good fit in terms of comfort, uplift and shape under clothes, then I would stay with this size. A G cup will not provide the same uplift, imo.

It looks very east-west though.

really? Perhaps I'm blind but when she is fully clothed, to me she looks to be pointing straight ahead...
-
I think she is very wideset but the bra does not push them towards center more - but thats fine.

^^ I agree--well-fitting bras can easily center *splayed* breasts (meaning the case where the person has average to close-set roots but boobs "point outwards") but in the case of someone who is simply wide-set, a well-fitting wired bra should not be expected to "center" i.e. shove the tissue to a part of the chest where it doesn't want to be, pushing the mass of the breast past the line where the breast root ends. This can be very uncomfortable for obvious reasons, just like you'd be uncomfortable in a bra that pushes your boobs too far outwards in the other direction, onto the side of the torso beyond where the breast root ends.
So in other words here I feel like this bra successfully supports the breast tissue right where it is naturally positioned.

As the she under discussion, I can assure you that the headlights are properly aligned. *grin*

wendybien yeah. You're right. The watermark just creates an optical illusion for me and makes them look east-west.
-
I often find the watermark problematic. I wonder if the placement can be changed.
-
The watermark has a mind of its own! It always wants to sit RIGHT where you are trying to see some important sign that will help understand why the bra is doing what it's doing...
-
Exactly!
Thanks. Yes, I am very happy with this bra. As I said in my review, it's my new favorite and I'm certainly going to stick with it. I'm certainly not going to speculatively buy a larger cup size. Although I'm pretty confident my boobs haven't stopped growing, they will (hopefully!) stop eventually. And that could be next week for all I know.
