Issue resolved
I tried it on again and still felt like I'll just never wear this bra. Its too ugly for me to want it just for fun, and it really does not hold me up any higher than my Decent Exposure bras. I hate to lose more on shipping AGAIN, but there's just no wear I'll wear this.
Back it goes.
Original problem
I first tried on this Jana at a local store and was surprised how comfy it was. But i had a store credit at Bare Necessities so I ordered it from them.
When I opened this bra, it had a strong smell - like febreeze? The wire on my bigger side seemed sort of wrong . . and i really wondered if it had been worn already and returned?
Overall this bra is very comfy, a bit sloppy fit, boring to look at, not too bad under a shirt.
The wires are definitely the biggest problem.
First of all, the wire on my big size will not tack at the gore. The smaller size squeezes in between my boobs and touches my chest, but on the bigger side, it bends up to give my bigger boob more room. Very thoughtful of you, gore wire, but thats really not your job. In fact, at first it was bending way in front of my boob, but I bent it back and its close to where it should be.
The other issue is that the wires are CRAZY wide. I mean, look at those measurements. The cup is like 2 full inches wider than my other I-think-they-are-ok bras. The wire goes way past my boob, and even almost entirely past my arm pit! It doesnt poke, so its quite comfy, but obviously its not giving much support on the side. No scoop-and-swoop in this bra! Of course, I'm sure thats part of why I get no quad-boobing. . . my boob just leaks out comfortably in to my arm pit.
Those side support panels? Its funny, I'd tried their Lois side support and it gave me awful dents. These dont - mostly because my boobs arent even in them? lol
So here's the thing - I am tired of sending things back and forth with Bare Necessities. At this point I've used up my credits and this bra seems like I could wear it and not hate it . . . so I'm probably keeping it.
But I'd still love to hear some feedback and what you all think about this fit . . .

helpfulYeah, that's what Fantasie gets like in your size range. I thinkk 32HH would probably be better, but that's moot since if you were bothering to send it back you wouldn't get Jana again. Keep it as your comfy bra and don't bother with any more Fantasie -- the wires are too weak, they aren't designed for your size, they have nothing for you.
Polish bras (specifically EM) and Panache are really going to be the only things well enough designed / with strong enough wires for you in your size with no alterations.

helpfulI think a lot of the problem is the wide wires with the wide center gore. Yeah, it looks like a fairly narrow gore objectively, but your breasts seem to be close-set, so this isn't working for you. It also looks as if your band is on the tightest hook already, which means you have nowhere to tighten as the band stretches. It doesn't seem to be supporting you very well.
I found this problem in Fantasie bras, but not nearly so much in Freya. I'd consider trying something from their Balconette lines, as they tend to offer fairly decent coverage/containment; the caveat is that finding your cup shape may be frustrating (volume is consistent, shaping is not as much).

The tighter you make the band, the more wide the cups will seem.

its on its loosest setting and I can fit my fist inside the band. Its not being pulled too tight.

I have to say, I'm not completely happy with my recommendation above. I keep coming back to it, because the more I look at this picture, the more I'm convinced that your band is way too lose. It doesn't seem to be supporting your breasts at all, and the band is way higher in the back than the front. I'm pretty sure you also need a larger cup size. If this is the case, this style (and most other Fantasie bras) really aren't going to work for you.
You're going to want to go for a Polish bra, it would seem, and while it may seem like 50-70$ is a lot for a bra, getting 3 bras that really support you and feel comfortable is way better than having a dozen that fit poorly, don't support, and don't flatter your shape in and out of clothing. Much luck to you in finding a better fit.

Yeah, Manda13 i'm starting to really wonder about my band size, too. I can always fit both hands inside my band.
I recently got a @Floris in a 32J, and its got a tighter band, but I notice that the band gaps slightly under my larger boob . . . and if I slouch and then sit up again . . the band moves a bit lower on my ribcage. I cant believe i might be a 30 but . . . . i might be a 30.
I'm still waffling about wether to return this jana or not, but its really clearly NOT doing what it should for me. The floris seems much better (and i love the smoothness of the fabric). And today my Marcie (32HH) feels better than it did when I tried to wear it 2 days ago. But yes, the band is rising, even tho I put it on the middle set of hooks. The marcie has a loose band (someone else said its tight, but mine is clearly loose).

Yeah, sounds like you might need a 30, and perhaps even a larger cup than that J. If it's just the band, a decent seamstress could take it in (including you, if you are decent at sewing stretch fabrics) so that you can get some mileage out of the Floris. It looks like the straps are digging in on it, and your breasts are pulling it down in the front (and up in the back, because of the too-loose band).
With the Marcie, try grabbing the lace part about an inch in from the straps and holding up the weight of your breasts in the cups from that point. If that eliminates the lace quadboobing issue, you could move the straps on that one, though it may be a bit of a pain to do so. It also seems to be a bit loose in the band.
Best of luck to you in finding/reworking a bra that fits!

The marcie is much looser in the band than the floris. the floris FEELS quit firm, but . . . there's a tiny gap under my big boob. grrr. But more and more thinking I need to return the jana.

helpfulThe back of the bra is higher up on you than the front. To me, it doesn't look like your boobs are going onto your sides. I see more projection and narrow than your boobs being squished into your sides. And when you have a shirt on I see a line in the middle of the cups.
Is the band big on you? Is that why the back of the bra is lower than the front. A lot of my bras do what your center gore is doing. I would rather have that happen than the center gore digging into my center breast tissue.
Other than the band maybe being too loose(band is higher on your back than it is on your cups) and the line in the middle of the cups while wearing a shirt, I don't see anything that would make me want to return the bra. Maybe, lengthen the straps so the back of the bra can be even with the front. Or maybe you need a smaller band size............? IDK. Ignoring the center gore, I think the cups look very nice on you.
I would keep this braUpdated on November 18, 2014 Flag this
thanks - doesnt it seem crazy there are basically 2 choices? Crazy.
Once I get a job (hopefully next year) I might try some polish bras. Its nerve wracking to spend that much money on UNDERWEAR tho! Esp since its not like I'm a young thing trying to catch a guy or something. I just wanted some 'real' bras so I didnt look so droopy and frumpy! But I guess this one does NOT meet that goal much lol! I was also thinking about going down a cup size - i might actually try that at the store. But since the cups are way too wide (isnt that crazy wide?) and the wires already not tacking on big side, im not convinced that would be much of an improvement.
