Bra fitting help » Wrinkling and weird hidden sling support makes breasts look lumpy.

Issue resolved
I just decided to deal with it. It's comfortable and you can't see it under clothes. I'm continuing my search though.
Original problem
This is a very comfortable bra and although I am having to fasten on the tightest set of hooks, it fits fairly well. I do think that the cups are a bit odd. There is a mesh sling type support inside the cup on the outer bottom of the cup. It feels great support-wise. But I can see that indentation by looking at the cup in the mirror. It goes in where it is supported and then spills over in the rest of the breast. I have slight, very light quad boob, but it isn't noticeable and wouldn't really bother me. But there is wrinkling in the band under the arm right beside but behind the cup. And the bottom of the cup has some wrinkling in the fabric but I don't understand why because as I said the breast bulges out from the support sling and has a little quad boob. I can stretch the band tighter and the underarm wrinkling remains so maybe it is normal and not a fit issue? The underwire width is very comfortable and feels spot on. Gore is the first time a bra has ever fit as it is supposed to, and I can definitely tell the difference. I didn't know what I was missing. I don't know if the cup fit is right or not but it does look just a little "off." My husband loves this bra in shirts because he describes it as a very "natural" look.

helpfulI think it is a tad loose in the band for you, but since your breasts aren't tremendously heavy you can probably get away with it for a while. Have you tried one cup size up? I think that might work even better. Even if you are stuck with this size,it sounds like it looks perfectly OK under clothes, so i'd call it a win fit-wise. Yes, the wrinkling isn't ideal, but I've checked out the photos taken by other users, and it looks like this fabric and design just tend to wrinkle and buckle a lot. It's not the most high-end bra, but it's a big step in the right direction and if it fits that is great news!

tkolady77 do they make a 28 band in this bra? Or are you talking about the Marcie?
-
Nayanya 3, yes, sorry I didn't make that clear. It is the Marcie that I had a 28 GG coming in. And sadly I can't wear it. It almost made me bleed on my sternum because of it poking me from the gore after a couple hours trying it on. The band was perfect but the loose lace at the top made it almost look like the cup was too big. It wasn't and in the reviews I've read many people had the same issue with the lace. I was going to just take that part in with my sewing machine to make the lace lay flat until I started hurting so badly and saw the hickey looking mark on my breast bone. (Mine protrudes from the skin a good deal so maybe it was only my anatomy and not the bra design.)

28F Marcie kills my sternum. But I didn't have that problem with 30E. They are the same in the cup but the band is more comfortable/stretchy.?.?
That's just for the yellow and pink Marcie size 30E.
If you ever try Marcie again, always size up in the band. The Marcie bras I have right now all have the measurement of a 28F. The aquamarine and pink are old. But the new yellow one I think it might have a bigger band. When I had a 30e yellow Marcie it didn't dig into my sternum. Not even the pink 30E. My comfortable is 27". It's good to size up in the band for Cleo Marcie. :) -
Nayana, sorry somehow I missed this but that is very good to know! I hadn't thought about that. Now I'm kind of curious to see if there is something I could do to lengthen the band to see if that would help at all. I'll have to check that out because I'd love to keep it. It's really pretty!

I agree with wendybien about going up 1 size in the cups. :)
-
tkolady77 You can wear a band extender or two if that's more comfortable. Then, next time just size up in the band and down 1 or 2 cups sizes.

tkolady77 Parfait by Affinities only makes 30 bands. But they are really tight like 28 band. Unless the cups are too big, then the band won't be tight at all. :)
You could be a really good bra model. :) I wish I could be a bra model. Wouldn't be a fun job for all the ladies on bratabase? LOL You get to try on bras all day and have professional pictures taken and you paid big bucks to try on bras!?!? -
Sorry, I'm mixing up the bras here. The 28 I have is the Cleo Marcie in 28GG. It fits but the gore digs BAD. So much so that I tried it on for a few hours to see if it would go away with the tags on. I just couldn't do it. Someone else said that when they went up a band on that specific bra they didn't have the gore issue like that bra just has a naturally tight band maybe. I'm not being clear so I'm confusing people, lol. :)

Lol I didn't read the whole comment. What a life! That would be nice. Thank you for the compliment! I think that would probably be the only way for me to find a perfect fit. Just have people bring me bra after bra to try lol.
-
LOL. I know huh?

Cleo Jude and Kelly wire bra are total opposites. Except for a tight band. If you look good in a Kelly wire bra, I would try a CK Princess or some of the soft cup CK bras.

helpfulThese cups are odd. I have the same weird wrinkling in my cups too. I can say that this one fits you way better than it fits me! LOL I'm not the only one that has problems with this bra. If I could think of my most unflattering bra, this would definitely be it! Sorry that I don't have any good advice. LOL
Good luck with that. LOL.Updated on November 13, 2014 Flag this

I also noticed tkolady77 that you look better in the bra than the professional models do. LOL

Thanks! I've ordered a 28 and 1 cup size larger because I *think* that this cup size fits but it is that little piece of material that makes it look a little bulgy and have the really small bit of bubbling out of the top. I'm going to keep this one and if anything I may even shorten the band a little so that I can tighten it. The band is much more substantial than in the VS bras. I never knew there was a big difference but I don't think it is going to stretch near as much as those do.
***Edited to add that you mentioned that the other pics you've seen of people wearing this bra seem to have similar wrinkling so I went to look it up and you're right. I was also comforted to see that all but one pic had the obvious little indentation I was concerned about where that little supportive piece of fabric is in the interior. I didn't want to look like a weirdo since this whole properly fitting bra thing is new to me. :D It does look weird to me still but I have to say that it is much more comfortable than having padding there because it doesn't make you feel like you can rest your chin on them. It just feels like they're gently being held up. I've got a Cleo Marcie (I think it is called) coming in the 28 GG so that I can see if that is a better fit or too big/small, So we'll see. Bummer I lost a bid this morning by a couple seconds and a couple cents for a 28GG Mimi Holliday that I really wanted to try. It was going to be less than $8 bucks. My kind of price! :D)
Thanks again for all your help!
