Issue resolved
people directed me to shallow models
Original problem
band: good on the loosest hook
wings/cups: comes up so high that it hurts my pectoralis minor. they are sore
cups: most emptiness in the center. lot of emptiness overall on my small boob (right). so i'm pretty sure my boobs are shallow.
wires: perfectmy questions:
is this bra worth keeping?
even though my ribcage measures 26, i find this 30 comfortably tight. last time i tried a 28 (curvy kate smoothie) it hurt a lot. should i stick with 30?
what models and sizes do you recommend for every day t-shirt bras? this sports bra is the only good bra i own and i'd like to own more.

helpfulFirst of all, not all 30 bands are alike. A 30 by Curvy Kate might be tighter or stretchier than a Panache one. Actually, the band width of the Panache Sports varies even between colors.
Apart from that, I would not recommend sizing down in this sports bra. It already looks like a perfect fit sizewise and going smaller might make it uncomfortable, interfere with breathing and/or cause other issues.
I would recommend looking into Shock Absorber sports bras. They work pretty well on small/shallow boobs. They don't have wires and the cups are soft, so this may ease your pectoralis minor issue.
I especially recommend the Shock Absorber Active Multi Sports (4490) and the Shock Absorber Ultimate Run Bra (B5044). Be careful with the band size - they run super tight. Size up at least one sister size from your regular size. (I'm usually a 30E, and I wear 32DD/E in Shock Absorber.)Good luck

knorfka I don't quite get what you mean by "but without a lot of space in the side". Could you explain that further? (I'm not a native English speaker, so please bear with me ;))
As for T-shirt bras that work in that size range, there are two popular models: The Cleo Maddie and the Freya Deco Softcup (without wires). The regular Deco is usually too narrow in the wires.
I'm not sure whether the Maddie would work for you, as you already have problems with the straps rubbing your armpits in the Panache. Maddie is well-known and dreaded for its very seperated straps. It's still worth a try, if you can get your hands on one easily.
Maddie runs small in the cups (and the recent solid colorways are also very tight in the band), the Deco Softcup runs bigg-ish in the cups and large in the band, as far as I recall.
/edited to add:
Oh, and definitely check out Libby's list for wide root shallow bras. It's a great compilation of everything that's likely to work in that size range and for that shape. http://www.bratabase.com/adventures/entry/2346/ -
wow that link is helpful!! i will buy some of these on amazon prime. thank you thank you :)
my roots are wide, but i don't have a lot of tissue under my armpits. i need wide wires, but i don't need lots of fabric and space there. does that make sense?

helpfulYou could try sizing down in the cup. Many people (including myself!) wear this bra 1-2 cups smaller than your normal size. I had the same issue as you with it stabbing me in the underarms, but that went away when I went down a cup size. Because I sized down, it's technically too small in the cups, but it's super comfy and does the job, so I don't worry about the technicalities. It still fits miles better than anything I wore a few years ago!
Band size -- wear whatever is comfortable. Don't worry about what the numbers say. Listen to your body.
As far as t-shirt bra, you could try the Freya Deco (4234). I'm not in your size range, so I'm not sure what the best recommendation would be, but people of all sizes seem to love that bra. I'm technically sized out of it, but I still have a couple in my drawer that I squeeze myself into because they're that great. Another good thing about the Freya Deco: Since it's so popular, there are always TONS floating around for sale. Good luck!

i can't size down, as there is no 30C for this model.
looking at photos of the deco, i'm worried that the wires may be too narrow for my shape. but i will consider buying it. thanks for your help :)

wow i did not know that panache sport wires vary between colors. i will keep that in mind.
do you have recommendations for t-shirt bras with wires similar to panache sport (but without a lot of space in the side, if that makes sense)?
