Issue resolved
I haven't entirely fixed this issue yet - I think I need to try some more Comexim bras. This one, I think, may be too small in the band and ever-so-slightly too large in the cup ... ? And there is not enough room for my inner fullness.
Original problem
Gapes slightly at the top edge of the cup as seen in the from-above photo. Cup is kinda wide, and makes a weird wrinkly shape when I lift my arms. I like the cleavage it gives under a shirt though! Also, the gore doesn't really tack... ? How can the gore not tack but the cups gape at the same time? Help! I want it to be a good fit.

helpfulIt's fairly common to get a gap even when the gore doesn't tack. This cup doesn't have enough space on the inner part of the cups (near the gore) where you have more fullness, but it has a bit more width and height than you require, so you don't completely fill it up near the straps.
Did you specially request a lower gore? That can backfire sometimes... people think it's what they need because they're projected and close-set, but in fact it means that the edge of the cup is going to need to cross over the fullest, most projected part of the boob, so then it won't tack!

Yeah I had this problem ALL.THE.TIME when I was more of an FF/G cup. My proportions seem to have evolved more towards the average now that my boobs have shrunk a bit, but it was a total pain.
Btw I am about to send off a bunch of my 10.5" to 11(ish) deep cup bras to Sophisticated Pair for her charity projects, if you really have nothing that fits well right now and are desperate for a bra in that range that accommodates more inner fullness let me know and I can send you one or two. PM me if this is the case.

helpfulThis is a new cup style for Comexim, and I think they're still working out the kinks. It seems to work best on a very specific type of boobs, and it fits better in the smaller sizes.
I had a similar issue with Comexim re: the gaping and non-tacking gore when the gore was actually too high. Have you tried their padded plunges yet? Those may be the best fit for you, as they work better with round, FoT boobs than the demi does. I think the demi is specially meant for very FoB boobs that need a LOT of help getting up and perky.
As for the band, I've found their bands to loosen up extraordinarily so after a few wears, so I wouldn't size up in the band if it feels ok with an extender. But I definitely recommend their plunges (if you haven't tried them already).

Oh but this is entirely not true - demi/halfcup bras are generally good friends with FoT, and arch enemies of FoB - because the upper tissue can never fill this kind of cups sufficiently if you're FoB.

Okay, good to know! :)
I am not sure if I have tried their padded plunges yet, haha... I tried the Tropical Garden (70J), the Eris (70HH), and this one. The Tropical Garden was too big in the cups but otherwise I really liked it (if I remember correctly). The Eris also seemed to be too big in the cups, but I've gained some weight and haven't tried it on recently so maybe I should try it on again. The issue I had with the Eris is that where the horizontal-ish seam across the middle of the cups goes, there and upwards gapped on me. :(
And thank you so much for the tip on the bands! :D Good to know. I'm such a baby about super tight bands. I like them stretchy.

helpfulIt might not be the best fit but for sure it looks great on you. I think you should try a longer band and then change the cup to a wider one.

Thank you so much! :D I actually did end up selling it (well, swapping it) because it just felt kind of uncomfortable. :( But I looooved having cleavage again lol... I feel like all the bras that FIT me don't give me cleavage! I miss my too-small-bras from VS because of all the boobage they gave me lol.

My sentiments exactly. All the ill-fitting bras gave me such epic cleavage...

helpfulFirstly I'm in love with your elephant t-shirt! Whaa!
Now, I can't see gaping much or at all; but in the side-view photos I can see the wrinkling and empty space. It should not be this way - Comexim have the narrowest wires on the planet. I'm only familiar with their plunges but I would not expect any of their styles to come up so wide.
From your ribcage measurements (78cm comfortable - 85cm loose - 72.5cm tight) it really seems like a 75 will be a much much better fit. Sometimes when the band is too tight and the cups compensate for it on the sides, boobs end up pressing on the front because they're not encapsulated by the wires like they should - as the wires are busy being pulled too far under the armpits!
I'd recommend trying a 75H if your indicated UB measurements are accurate - many ladies report going up a band size for Comexim in comparison to their usual UK band size. You'll still have loads of that cleavage of course, only with better support in the right places.Updated on December 3, 2014 Flag this

Haha thank you! I'm a little obsessed with it - believe it or not, I found it on a $2 clearance rack, which makes me even more obsessed with it. :P
I will definitely try a 75H in the next Comexim I try! I would love to find a Tropical Garden in that size 'cause it's sooo pretty.
And yay for still having lots of cleavage, haha!

helpfulGiven that your freya tropic has a 5.6" wire and 11" deep cup and fits, while this one has a 6" wire and a 10" deep cup, you're probably not getting as much depth as you need. It does look sexy, but you're probably not going to get as much band support as you really need and you might get under bust chaffing because the cups won't anchor properly.

Good point. :( I've found that most bras in my size with wider cups also have shallower cups. Which is frustrating, because the shallower ones seem to be the kind that give the sort of cleavage I'm looking for.

Ohh, I see! I seem to have that problem with a lot of my bras. :( Super frustrating!
I actually did not request a lower gore - the bra just came like this. :) I bought it from another Bratabase user!
