Bra fitting help » Is my band on this one too tight too?

Issue resolved
Cup placement isn't perfect for me but the bra is otherwise good.
Original problem
Again, this band feels comfortable, but it seems like it digs into my sides and creates "rolls" instead of smoothness. Also, are the cups placed too far apart? I'm trying to narrow down what bras I own are an *actual* fit and what bras I own are just ones that I THINK fit (but don't really) - hence asking you guys for your thoughts and advice.

helpfulHmm... if the band feels tight, it isn' really visible from these pics. I have this front view indent above the ribs with all my well fitting bras. Maybe the cups are a little roomy or what, they seem to give a bit of a "relaxed" shape. I like the Freya Pollyanna better on you than this one.

helpfulTry an extender and see what happens

It looks like an OK fit, maybe not the best you'll ever achieve, but certainly workable. Why not take a photo with the extender and see if there's a difference in appearance?

helpfulEspecially in the last picture (side view) the band does not look too tight imo. The wires don't seem distorted and there's no obvious cutting into your flesh. But as it's just a picture, it's hard to tell from a distance
I do relate to your dilemma of not being sure if a band is properly tight (supportive) or exceedingly tight. My ribcage is comparable to yours and I mostly wear 30 bands. I've grown so accustomed to tighter band bras that sometimes, like you, I wonder if I could get away with larger bands.
Also, bras that are perfect in the morning seem tighter at the end of the day (as if my ribcage slightly widens during the day??) Is that an issue for you, too?
However on my body, it's partly the strap placement / cup scaling that increases my need for 30 bands and not 32: the 32 bras just get too wide/tall/iffy on my torso. For example, recently I've experimented with a Jasmine in 32GG instead of 30H - but that didn't end well.
So that sort of helped me make up my mind
But guess it's still trial and error for each new bra..Updated on September 2, 2015 Flag this

I just can't stand the way it looks from the front where it digs into my sides. I wonder if my rib flares have something to do with it. :(
The issue of a band seeming tighter by the end of the day is definitely something I've felt as well. It seems almost like the bra band cuts in more as the day goes on.

I actually have tried this with an extender, and I do feel like it made the band more comfortable. I don't know that I noticed a different in the east-west look I felt like this bra gave me in this photo... am I being overly critical of the bra and the photo? I feel like it is a pretty good fit in the cups otherwise.
