Bra fitting help » Are wires supposed to be close to armpits when you're wideset?
Parisa Fe » Verona Contour Bra (PT1039) » 32DDD 32:6
Issue resolved
I'm keeping the bra as an everyday option. Will try a push up style next in this brand to see if I can create a bustier look.
Original problem
Okay ladies, what do you think of this one? Cups are filled, band is comfortably snug. The wire encompasses my whole breast and I like that, however it's a little high up by my armpits. Is this par for the course when you have wide set breasts? I tried the 32DD in the same bra and I had quad boob.

helpfulThe wires are supposed to encircle your breasts. They are not supposed to be so narrow that they dig into your breast tissue. They are also not supposed to be so broad that you have empty space in the outside parts of the cups. As for how high up it goes at the armpits, it depends on how much breast tissue you have there. I personally have very far apart breasts and tall roots, so there is quite a bit of breast tissue under my armpit area, but you may or may not be different. If you have significant breast tissue there, underwires that go high at the armpits are fine because they prevent breast tissue from escaping and being naughty. If you do not have much or any breast tissue there, underwires that go high at the armpits are kinda superfluous.

helpfulThere isn't really a norm of "how it's supposed to be" in terms of how far up the wire should end on you. The only important issue is if it is comfortable and allows you to move around as you normally would

Thank you, I do have breast tissue in that area. I will target lengthy wires and see if I can rein in more breast. I'd like to try a push up style in this brand next and see if that gives me a bustier look. This one is fine for day-to-day. Thanks for your advice!
