Issue resolved
30FF should be better
Original problem
I was super excited to try Ardour and I wasn't disappointed! It's a true beauty!
The only minor problem I can think of is that I'm afraid it creates a bit of quadboob!
I think next time I should probably order a 30FF, with bigger cup depth (I believe around 9'' is the best for me!)Do you agree or am I just being picky?

helpfulMasquerade bras do tend to be low-cut boudoir styles, but not this low-cut. I think you are right to be picky, and you can even be pickier-- if you look at the side and the top of the cup and consider where they end on your breast, you'll notice they are not containing enough tissue to keep you truly stable throughout the day (this is actually even more important with bras you plan to wear with evening attire--you want your boobs to stay where they are!) This bra has a nice deep cup shape so IMO you simply need to size up.

Honestly if your body measurements are up to date, you need to shoot for a cup depth that is close to your lying down single breast perimeter measurement or standing measurement (whichever is smaller).
If you have very large, or very soft, hanging boobs (like older ladies, women who've had several pregnancies, etc.) sometimes you can size down from that by an inch or so, but otherwise that number right there is the cup depth you need in most bras, give or take 1/4-1/2 inch. Especially if you are young and firm with dense breast tissue!
-
wendybien That's was I'm aiming for, my lying down breast perimeter is 9'' and my boobs are pretty dense!
-
oh OK, I was going by your measurement chart which says 9.8"!
-
wendybien I took that measurement leaning down, I think. 9.8'' is when I'm standing! Lying down is more like 9-9.5'' depending on the time of the month :)
-
Oh yes that line is supposed to be the measurement taken lying down on your back (hopefully eliminating the skin elasticity factor).
-
wendybien, thanks for the suggestion about cup depth, it's bound to be helpful as so many try to figure out the right size!
-
Yeah it's not entirely foolproof but it is a good guideline :-)

helpfulIf there is any quadding, I'm having difficulty seeing it. As you said, maybe just a tiny bit. Of course, if the gore isn't lying flat, maybe the next size up would be ideal; I'm going more by that than the photos, though.
It *is* a beautiful bra!

TheNightingale the gore is lying flat! :) I think it might be just a little bit on my bigger breast, and specially after I've done some S&S!
Nevertheless, I'm just trying to get as much fit info as I can so I can order new bras is a *perfect* size! This one is a keeper, it's not going anywhere, especially since I got it for 50% discount on ebay! <3

helpfulOohh, what a lovely bra on you! Truly! I see maybe a bit of quad on your left side. I think this one is a call you'll have to make. To me, it doesn't look overly small. Are you having to put the girls back in the nest during the day? If it's comfortable, I think it's passable, but I think you could do a 30FF as well.

lcl0706 thanks! :)
So far I've only put it on for a couple of minutes! I need to wear it a whole day to really see if there's any fit issue! But I believe it won't be anything major, I'm just gathering all the fitting info I can get so I can order new bras in *that really* perfect size! :)

You and me both girl. I got pretty darn close with today's Alice, I am stoked because it's cold hard numbers I can take and apply to other bra purchases.
-
lcl0706 You tried Alice from Panache? It didn't worked out? I think that's such a beautiful bra!
-
No it works fabulously! It is beautiful and so far it's my favorite bra. I only say "pretty darn close" because a 28FF is my ideal size, but I had to settle for a 30F and closing the band on the tightest hooks. The straps could be a touch longer (not fully adjustable) and the cups could be wider - they're wide enough but I could go wider still, probably up to 6.3 or 6.4 without being too wide. So I love having the Alice's measurements to tote around.

I'm gonna see how it behaves for a full day. I'll probably have to adjust the cup depth I'm aiming for while buying bras. Something around 9'' and not 8''!
Thanks! :)
