Issue resolved
looking for a different style, this one going back!
Original problem
Tried this on today in store and at first seemed to feel ok, after wearing for about 15 minutes I felt that the cups were coming up too high under my armpits and rubbing(not underwire just fabric at side). I am filling bottom of cups so a smaller cup size would not be right. It does feel very snug round the band but I can run two fingers round ok. I quite often have the problem with a 34 band size feeling tight at first even on loosest hook but have in the past bought a 36 band(36e) and this has in very short time become too loose even on tightest hook!

helpfulI'd say you need a lower coverage bra, at the very least. I'm curious, though, because you posted your perimeter as 14 inches and your cup depth as 11.5. For a bra to fit, these measurements should be close to the same. So something seems off here.

you are supposed to measure around one breast, in 3 differnet positions, but you only did one of them

Hi, just re measured myself, and perimeter is 12 inches, not sure how I came up with 14! this is very hard to measure as my breast tissue comes up quite high under armpit and is difficult to see where to stop.

helpfulGravity being what it is, you can "fill"the bottom of the cups in a bra even 3 sizes too big! Image 3 looks like there is a gap at the top of the cup so you could definitely at least try 1 cup size down (34FF). However, this bra design also looks poorly graded i.e. too tall and wide for most wearers. You might want to look for bras with narrower wires and cups that are not so tall.

Hi, thank you. I think it may be the style of the bra as a 34ff would not sit flat between my breasts. I think the gap is from twisting to the side to take photo. It also happened in this bra when I sat down but was lying back on sofa , if that makes sense! It did not appear to be a problem when I was standing .I have had this problem before with gap at top of cups on moulded bras as my boobs are fuller at the bottom due to age, breast feeding previously and I guess gravity! :)This one is not as stiff as some moulded so it wasn't a problem when I was standing straight but I could not wear the Deco bra despite trying many sizes as this gapped at the top.

I would be interested to know what people think about the band size, as I have just noticed that the bra stretched is only 30 inches and I measure 32.5 minimum

It sounds like you have a projected shape and have been trying on bras that are too wide, tall and shallow for your shape and thus you've been sizing up to get enough depth (and then suffering the consequences because they are poking you due to being oversized in every other regard). Very few molded bras in your size range have the depth that will suit a projected shape--they tend to be shallow. Fantasie Rebecca runs large in the cups but is indeed a deep shape. Curvy Kate Smoothie and Daily Boost have been redesigned to be less wide and are now popular with people who need deeper cups and are in search of the elusive molded style that will fit.

Yes, wendy knows a lot about bras! Are you attached to molded bras, or are you willing to try something with seams, like a Marcie or something?

Hi thank you I have been trying T shirt /seamless/moulded bras, (this isn't the only bra I have had this problem with, there are too many to mention!) I think maybe I need to move away from this style as suggested. I will have a look at Smoothie and daily boost, do you think a 34 band is right? I have only just resized myself to a 34 after reading online about bra measuring methods where you add 4 or 5 inches being wrong, and speaking to customer service @Bravissimo. certainly a 36 band in most styles and makes is fairly loose.
-
Yes, 34 looks about right to me - depends on the model, tho. Some bras are stretchier. You can read the reviews here before you try something and see if people say they are very stretchy - except sometimes it depends on the color, too, so its hard to be sure.

I agree 34 is sensible!

thanks everyone :) I haven't tried Curvy Kate bras before any tips for sizing? Do the bands/cups run big/small? I can only do shopping online, just had a look on @bravissimo and they don't have either style

Hi, thank you for the advice, I will re measure tomorrow my self and the bra, the perimeter is the one where you lean over and measure round isn't it?
