Bra fitting help » Cups gapping at gore

Issue resolved
The cups are too big. Need to get a smaller size. Will either try 90FF, or 85G.
Original problem
I just got this bra in the mail. I first noticed that the band is looser than I thought it would be. I am comfortable in a 38 band. Reading reviews, it was suggested to go up a band so I did. I should have got an 85. The cups gap near the gore. If I pull the top of cup back to the strap and pinch it a little, the gap seems to go away. The gore doesn't tack. I have tried it on the tightest, and loosest hooks. With and without the removable pads. The biggest issue is the gapping near the gore.

helpfulIt honestly looks like the cups are too big, too. I mean, they come pretty high in your arm pit, too. But your measurements indicate it should be too small, os thats strange. Have you lost any weight?
i read elsewhere that you are FOB, so I also wonder if thats part of the problem, but I honestly dont know.

actually looking at my measurements, i range from 14-16 perimeter and cup depths that work for me range from 13.3 to 14. So maybe for some of us (I'm super soft and pendulous) . . . idk.
also, does it fit any better or worse with the padding?

It definitely fits better with the pads. If I have the pads in, put a halved sock in smaller breast side, and push the gore to tack, it fits great. The problem is, I can't get the gore to tack. Without the pads at all, it is just a gapping mess. Even pushing the gore in it still gaps. I feel like if the gore would tack, it would fit. Does that make sense?

yeah, but i have no clue. i dont suppose you could try with a rixie clip?

helpfulI also think that the cups are just too big, and the gaping manifests itself near the gore because of your boob-shape in combination with the bra shape: It is just more noticeable there than anywhere else because the plunge line is (well, supposed to be) deep. I also have soft breasts and need smaller cup than my measurement indicates, it's very common. Naturally, cups that are not filled properly can prevent gores from tacking, as the whole business is rather loose 'n' sloppy hanging around there and it's not only about the band..

I'm stumped too. I'll measure myself later to see if there is any difference from last time. I've been waiting on this bra for a month, and I'm so dissapointed. I need projection, narrow wires, and support. I thought I would have either quad boob, or gapping at arm pits. I wasn't expecting gapping near the gore. I've never had that issue.
