Bra fitting help » Cup separation too wide, can't quite fill the top, band too large
Victoria's Secret » Pink Scoopneck Push-up Bra (262-022) » 34B 34:2
Issue resolved
The style and size of the bra did not fit my shape properly.
Original problem
As you can see in the side angle pictures, I have a definite gap up top and I think they are too wide for me, even for my shape, because I get my nipples quite often peaking out. I am confused as to how to measure the cup separation on this particular bra, so pointers are greatly appreciated! Also, I can pull the band several inches away from my back, if two inches is the maximum, then this bra definitely goes beyond that. But, besides everything, one of my favorite bras, because it gives me a little cleavage like in the frontal shot and is pretty comfortable.

helpfulthis bra isn't doing you any good. Its just sitting on top of ur breasts. Ik you think its giving you cleavage but it is not giving you any lift or support. I would try this bra http://www.bratabase.com/listings/dlmkw/
http://www.bratabase.com/listings/dl2n5/ You need definitely a 28 band so thats ur first start. Im also guessing you will be a 28 E. So your best bet at giving you the cleavage u want is probably freya deco then i would suggest a bra thes a half cup or balconette just because that will give u very nice lift and can give u great cleavage. I think u will be surprised how much better clothes fit once your girls are raised up where they are supposed to be. Also cleo by panache might work for u too. On smaller framed women it can really lift them and bring them together. But so can freya. Hoped I helped! Also if u ha ve amazon prime order a panache bra and a curvy kate and a freya just to see if it fits you then u can return and search on here for a cheaper price. Its nice to get a bra in two days to tryUpdated on February 10, 2015 Flag this

Ohmyboobies Thank you for confirming my suspicions! lol I just literally started my quest for properly fitting bras. Up until 2 weeks ago I didn't really know it was possible for me! I LOVE Prime, lol - I tried one bra 28D, Freya @Flourish Underwire Plunge Balcony Bra and definitely noticed an improvement in fit and shape, but, it felt small, kinda giving me a quad boob effect because of the design. But seriously, great information, THANK YOU - I plan on checking all those bras and sizes you mentioned! :)

If you are thinking of buying a bra, look up that bra here in bratabase - your breast perimeter (which seems to vary between 6 and 8 inches?) should match the cup depth. Well, 6-8 inches is a big variation, idk. For me the smallest measurement is the best, but for people with firmer breasts, I think the bigger one is better because they dont like being squished. (I'm happy to be squished . . . otherwise my boobs hang way low lol)

Same! dbmamaz

dbmamaz , good point on the variation. My boobies do hang low, since breastfeeding my two little ones. Maybe for some people BF'ing did not affect their breasts, but to mine it did! I remember them "hanging" higher! I loved BF'ing them, but my boobies need more help than before! lol I should check that measurement again. Thanks!

No, its normal for your measurements to be different, the only question is - which is the measurement which matches the right sized bra for you.
My boobs started sagging before I had kids - cuz I (thought I was a 34D but was probably a 32F and) went braless for several years before having kids - but my boobs got and stayed bigger after each kid! and obviously that made them sag more.
all the more reason to find a bra that really fits!

My boobies have been pendulous from the start (damn short root). The nipple has just gotten lower through the years as the girls have gotten bigger.

I think you have fairly projected boobs, I don't go off bratabase measurements of each boob, I go off shape (the approach taken on www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits) and I'd say you have a fairly short and narrow root, Freya plunge balconies may be good for you, you will definitely want a 28 band as they are stretchy (30 bands in firmer brands like Panache). Without your actual bust measurements (standing, lying, leaning) I'd be hard pushed to have any idea what cup size, but a 34B would be the same volume as a 28DD.

Thanks for that link joanna1970 ! Quite informative! :)
Yes! you are NOT a 34, nothing near it. First you need a band that fits you - the cup proportion will be different on a bra designed for a chest your size instead of one 6 inches larger.
