Original problem
So I'm opening 3 fit requests and this is my second.
Should I go up a cup size because of the tad bit of empty cup at the bottom or is it because my armpit is pushing the cups down?
I fear if I go up a cup size that I would gape...
Band is very stretchy, ideally I would like to wear a 30, but it still is okay on the 2 hook place.
Is the gore too wide? or okay?
Also, when I put the measurements in it never asked for the width and depth so they are:
8" deep, 5.5" wide.

helpfulAfter looking at all three, your measurements, and some other measurements on the site- I think you should try 32E bras. Emptiness at the bottom could mean that it's not projected enough for you, so your boob doesn't have the space to fit down there and it creeps out the top/sides instead or gets pushed down while your breasts try to find more room. It could also be that the wires are too narrow, not letting your boob get to the bottom even if it would fill it out.
A guideline for cup depth is to look at your horizontal and (mainly) lying breast perimeters. It should be fairly close to a good depth. So you'll want to try bras with a depth of 9-9.5" You could need smaller, or larger, but it's a starting point. If you do find a bra that ticks all your boxes except the gore is too wide, that's a really easy fix. You don't even need a sewing machine. Just fold and pin it (I prefer to leave the excess on the outside so it doesn't irritate my chest) and hand sew a few stitches from top to bottom (and back again if you're afraid they aren't strong enough). Be aware this will shorten the band, so you'll need an extender or a bra that's already a smidge loose in the band (2 birds with one needle!)Updated on February 20, 2015 Flag this

A 30E is the sister size of 32DD so if your going to go down to a 30 I'd say try 30F and E if possible. It will vary by bra but I think you're somewhere in the 30F or 32E range just judging by the fit on these and measurements.

what bra/brands would you suggest i try? i'm kinda scared to jump from a 32D-32E, eeek
-
when i got fitted at Nordstroms before they closed my location. the fitter put me in a 32C... and ONLY molded cup bras.
and then another fitted at a local shop (the one who said nothing would fit me, put me in a 30D freya) -
Honestly, I'm not sure what to suggest. Hopefully someone in a similar range will come along and chime in. My best suggestion would be to try as many different styles and shapes as possible. Wide, narrow, shallow, deep, unlined, moulded. Even if you think it won't work or you aren't a huge fan of the color or whatever, as long as it's a free return purchase (or instore try on) I'd go for it just to nail down what works and doesn't. Keep in my you can snap pics and quick measure in the changing room to do a fit check here without actually buying (just mark as not owned) and then go back for it if you change your Mind.

And fitters are hit or miss. Ideally, they'd all be awesome and know what they're doing but that's not always the case. And even if there's a good fitter there, there will be another 3 that aren't great. A fitter should never tell you nothing will fit you, there's a bra out there somewhere for you!

helpfulVS can have *very* stretchy bands, sometimes. Far too much, in my opinion.
This bra appears to fit you better than the Blush Contour Bra (0229801), but then I think the cup material is more forgiving.
I don't think the gore is too wide, unless you really are wearing the bra too low, in which case the gore might wind up being just a little too wide. I'm curious, though, about what seems to be slight gapping of the band underneath both cups and the gore. Is that just the lace giving that impression, or are the cups indeed too small and the stretchy band is allowing your boobs to push it away from your chest?

I have empty space at the bottom of the cup, and the the lace thing i have no idea, i guess it was curling up?
But I do not wear my bra too low.
At the apex of my breast it pushes the cup down, like all my bras.
I have lots of center fullness when I'm supported and my right breast is bigger pulling the gore over and making the edges of the wires slightly poke, it is that way with all my gores, except for that new Blush contour that I put up a fit request for, the gore is so narrow and awesome. I love it. I wish all my bras were that way... -
I thought 'boobs pushing bra down' usually meant you need more projection in the bra?
Also, what she is asking about is that it looks like the wires are not flat against your body at the bottom, but it could jsut be a shadow. Can you fit your finger under the wires at the bottom towards the center, or is it actually tight against your body?
again - cup volume should match at least one of your contours, so it looks too small tome - but esp, i think, maybe too shallow
-
if that is what it means, then, yay! :)
the wires are snug underneath. -
also, i tried this in a 32D and it had even more quad boob and empty space at the bottom.
i also tried this in a 32D unlined and i had empty fabric on every side of my boob, bottom, top, sides... -
also, to the first comment.
the farther "north" you go on my inside breast distance, the closer they are.
so if the gore was shorter it would fit better because the breasts down "south" are farther apart.

helpfulI think of the three this is your best bra... If you like the fit and style I'd go up a cup but if your not feeling the bra then I wouldn't do it.

I'm afraid i would gape at the top with a next size up?
-
Hmmm yeah I was just looking at some other VS bras and it looks like the cup increase for 32DD-32DDD is about 1 inch so maybe not.

helpfulso i think i've decided not to keep this bra because it's not very supportive. when i walk i still get lots of bounce and it kinda feels like i just have something "covering" my boobs, not really holding them.

Are you sure I shouldn't try a 30E instead?
I also got a mesh Claudette bra in the mail today and it was "orange in a glass" and the band was too big (32D), so should I try you think what size with that bra?
