Bra fitting help » Long wires, wires too far from breast, slight wrinkling, slight pinch, big band
Vera Wang » Nostalgia Unlined Demi » 34DD 34:5
Issue resolved
Bra is too big in the band, wires too long, simply the wrong size.
Original problem
Long wires, painful band and middle wires(even though band is also loose), slight wrinkling. Unsure if it fits.

helpfulIt hurts, it wrinkles, band is too loose, etc. = doesn't fit. It doesn't matter how it looks, if it is hurting you or moving around, that's not a good fit.
Also, based on the measurements you entered this looks like a very atypically shaped cup for 34DD: uncommonly wide, uncommonly long wires, and almost no depth as a result. This would work well for a tall, athletic person with a much wider torso and a very shallow breast shape (which is a common, even predominant shape in smaller size ranges but in the 34DD zone it's honestly an outlier shape, so this would not be a good bra for most people in your size range).
I doubt you would enjoy wearing a 30 but a 32 would undoubtedly be better in some brands. A 34 would probably be fine in the tighter-running brands.

helpfulPretty sure the band is too big, and that will make the cups too wide. You should be able to fasten on the loosest set of hooks and still have it be pretty tight.

helpfulwendybien dbmamaz Thank you both! I finally tried on some 30 bands last night and liked them a lot. I also discovered that 32dd fits pretty well. I'm just a little bit confused because I was sized at VS as 32d, I size myself as 30e/ddd or 30f leaning; 32d's seem fine except for a small bit of spillage, and I can't wear unlined 32d because it cuts into thw top of my boobs. So I guess I can somehow wear molded 32d's, unlined 32dd's but so far the perfect fit in any cup that isn't full coverage is 30e?( I did also buy a Parfait in 30e and the cup is empty in the very bottom)
O_O
I have come to accept that this one absolutely doesn't fit though. I have a 34d in the same one too. The 34dd has just been killing my back and making me sore. If I could find that same one with a smaller band and slightly shorter wires but with the same coverage, I'd be in heaven.Updated on March 1, 2015 Flag this

Cutting in on top is not about padded vs unpadded, its about how open the top of the cup is - its probably a coincidence that the padded ones you've tried have been more open (unless you just mean it doenst hurt as much when a padded bra cuts in) - spilling over the top and cutting in at the top both either mean the bra is too small or the wrong shape. Some peoples breasts are more spread out up and down, and others end more suddenly at the top - so you might need a taller cup shape

dbmamaz As I've been trying more styles, I think you're right that I need a taller cup. I usually go for demis in unlined (this one is also a demi) and all sorts in padded. I've tried lined and unlined sling style bras and they're wonderful.
As for the cups in padded bras, I can't do super round shapes because they leave space in the top of the cup. I also just bought a Le Mystere unlined that is slightly rounded, either from wear or it's just how it's designed, but there is space on top. So I guess sling bras are the way to go for a good fit.

Which is to say no, it doesnt fit. Nothing in a 34 band will fit. You need a 30 or 32 band, and until you try that, cups will be the wrong proportion and wires, too
