Issue resolved
cups too projected for my shape
Original problem
I'm getting the same little fold in the gore as I asked about with the Juna (not sure where it's most visible; here's my fit request on the Juna: http://www.bratabase.com/troubleshoot/dludp/#), but my biggest problem here is the cup shape. The bra is rather forgiving, being a soft cup. However, I still feel like it's not a good fit. In the outer lower quadrant of the cups, it's VERY tight! You can (hopefully) see in one of the side-view photos how this produces vertical folds. Perhaps the tightness there is purposeful, in order to give a better overall shape. What actually happens for me, though, is that is that, instead of moving the tissue upward and toward the center, I feel like it's just getting squished to the side. The result is that I don't fill the top of the cups, especially the part near the gore. There's a lot of wrinkling, mostly in the lace part on top of the cups. I wonder if this would be helped by a slightly tighter band because, after scoop-and-swoop, I do get a decent shape in the cup and fill most of it -- but this doesn't stay in place for very long. Overall, I don't think it looks terrible and I'm happy to have tried a soft cup bra (this is my first one), but I think I'm going to return it anyway. Just hoping someone can explain what the cup issues might indicate.

helpfulI have the same problem, tried a lot of bras like that in many sizes and none fit. So, yes, the cups are wrong-shaped. I think, they are perfect for full-on-bottom, saggy and big sizes (like H and bigger), because, despite being unpadded, this bra type has it's own shape and it never takes the shape of your breasts. Amongst unpadded bras I noticed Freya Gem (wanted to try it myself but didn't have a chance, and there are also no reviews) which could fit this shape (and other half-cups, probably).

I belive so, though I can't be completely sure. Maybe my boobs are taller. You can see my measurements in my profile.
You also can see 3 of my best bras in my profile. Moreover, I have a bra Curvy Kate Entice in 28E but it was too small for me, so I didn't post it. Though you could try it, or similar models, in 28E.
I also own a lot of italian bras, like Tezenis, in size 36B (3B) because I can't buy a 28 back bra in my country, and it's rather risky to buy through internet. So I found out the cups in bras with bigger bands are comfortably wide (most of cups in 28 bras are too narrow for me) and not so projected, which is perfect for me, so I just cut off half of the 36 back and make it 28. -
I checked your profile and it seems like our shapes are similar, except that you seem to have much wider roots than I have. great idea to alter the 36Bs like that though! glad to hear that it works for you :)

helpfulIt seems you have more shallow breasts. Cleo Lucy works better for more projected breasts.
Do you feel this is a better or worse fit than the Juna?
I would carefully suggest the Cleo Marcie, since that is a model that works better for shallow breasts in smaller sizes.Updated on June 12, 2015 Flag this

at first I assumed I had shallow breasts, since I have such a small size. then I got some feedback on different bras and, through those explanations, I think that I am shallow *in general* (because I am small), yet I actually have more projection than most *within my size range*. so yes, I would agree that I have a shallow shape overall, but I need to really pay attention to the amount of projection in the cups around my size.
anyway, I would say the Lucy *is* a worse fit than the Juna, so maybe that means that the Lucy is too projected for me. what i find strange is that it's tight on the outside, yet I have inner fullness (based on the direction that my nipples point when I lean over). do you think that indicates me being too shallow for these cups?
I've looked at the Marcie and I'm afraid that it isn't open enough of top, but I'm only basing that off of pictures. do you know how open it is? I'm concerned about that because my roots reach nearly to my collarbone.

I'm not sure how accurate it is to measure inner vs outer fullness by leaning over and looking at the nipple direction, because your breasts may do different things in a bra than when you're leaning over. (I know my breasts work this way.)
The Cleo Marcie is actually very open on top, it is the bra that is most often recommended for full on top breasts or those with tall roots. It is scaled pretty well, which means that in the smaller cup sizes it runs more shallow and in the larger cupsizes more projected. That's why I've seen it recommended for shallow breasts in the smaller cup sizes when the Juna doesn't work so well. -
marcie is more open on top, but I think that, like the Lucy, it will be overall too big and wrinkly on you.
the brands you're trying don't usually do awesome in your size range; they're better in the higher ranges. one exception to try is the freya deco softcup in 28C.
have you tried the little bra co? wacoal petite? calvin klein doesn't make 28 bands but runs tight and does well in your size range.

good to know about the Marcie. thanks.
i haven't tried TLBC because I was afraid that their cups would run too small for me, since they don't go above a C. and i'm unfamiliar with Wacoal so far.

thanks for your comment, fain ! do you think we have a similar shape? if so, do you have any bras that worked particularly well for you?
