Bra fitting help » Too wide, too big, where do I go from here?
Comexim » Juliette Plunge Bra (237) » 60K 28:11
Issue resolved
Yeah, it's huuuuuuge.
Original problem
Many issues:
Too wide, too big (?), too tall.
What do you all think is wrong here? Do I need to just go with reduced cups, or a smaller size overall? I'm leaning towards needing a smaller size plus reduced cups.
The 6.0" wide cups surprised me, and if that's going to be a consistent measurement among 60K Comexims, that's not going to work for me. Do you think the wrinkling at the bottom of the cup is a result of the entire thing being too big? I'd be highly surprised if a Comexim was too shallow.

helpfulI'd agree with the other responses in that it's definitely too big. I feel like a 60HH/65H/65HH might work a lot better. I'd personally aim for 65 bands as they can run a little closer to the 60 side but it wouldn't be as likely you'd find one too tight for comfort. Though there's always variation, unfortunately.
Also seconding the suggestion of pinning down your size before going for an alteration (unless you find one used). It's a little hard to tell if it'll be mandatory because of how much bigger this bra is, but it seems like reduced cup height might be something that would work for you.Updated on June 8, 2015 Flag this

helpfulNot entirely sure, but I think this model in particular is a bit wonky with its sizing. I remember seeing measurements for a listing, and the measurements fit my parameters (as a 75J), but the actual size was a 70M or something along those lines.
I would advise to nail down your size first before figuring out alterations. Obviously, this is too big, cup-wise, for you, so the wires will be wider and taller than your tissue can fill out. I'd advise to go down 2 cup sizes and see where you are from there. I've seen someone on here request a Comexim order with more narrow wires than is normal, and you can definitely do reduced cup if need be. But I think you should find one in your correct size before going down that road.
I hope Comexim works for you!

helpfulHoly craparoni. You could fit your whole family in there! It's several cup sizes too big. Try 60HH?

actually, if you've got narrower wires you'll need less depth, since it won't be wasted at your armpits. Based on the 28G/30FF bras you've marked as fitting Id say 60HH is a reasonable place to start. Maaaaybe 60J but I'm doubting it especially with how huge this one is (even if it does run silly)

See the thing with cup depth measurements... Because plunges are cut diagonally, sometimes the measurable cup depth is not the same as your boob perimeter because you measure your boob at a higher or more horizontal level than the cup can be measured. So you often can get a 9" boob into an 8.3" plunge cup with no issues. I hope that wasn't too confusing...
-
Yourlovealive that makes total sense, thanks! And wendy that wasn't confusing. Now, I gotta find all the discussion about ordering from Comexim, since I didn't actually order this one from Comexim, and have no idea about the whole Polish website thing...

helpful6.0" wide cups is a normal thing, actually. Most of my bras have the same measurement, and I am not even close to a K cup.
I think, the main problem here is that the cup is too closed and short on the sides(NOT TOO TALL! the part of the breast that is located in the armpit is completely outsude the cup) and projected, so in smaller sizes it will be even shorter. The top of the cup sits right on your breast muscle, straps are too close to the center, and that makes it gape so much. So I think the shape is the most wrong thing here so you better try other styles.Updated on June 9, 2015 Flag this

6" wide is not normal for Comexim, who is known for their narrow wires and immediate projection, and I need that immediate projection. And a Comexim K cup is not the same as a UK K cup.
I see and feel zero breast outside of this cup anywhere, especially in the armpit, so could you clarify what it is about my pictures that you're determining this from? In that side picture, my finger is marking where my actual breast begins.
In pic 11 of 12, you can clearly see where my upper root - where my breast tissue begins to curve/project away from my chest wall, sits significantly below the top of the cup. I wouldn't want the straps any wider, they're already at the outside of my frame and threatening to rub my shoulders. I'm not being argumentative, just curious what makes you feel this is a shape mismatch rather than a size mismatch.

I could picture it for you but I'm not sure how to do it...
Thoug i looked through your bras and noticed Cleo » Ellie (6611) » 28G » that is a completely different cup shape (and it's very good on you). It's width is on the upper side of the cup, and in this bra the lower part seems to be wider than upper part, which is anatomically wrong for you. the part between the puter side of the underwire and the strap is too short so it doesn't let the breast in (in a photo from below there is skin wrinkling ans so-called "fat roll" which is actually the breast), and the part between the strap and the central gore is too long (so there is gaping, if you wear an A cup with such issue, it will gape anyway. Yes, there is some point where your breast starts to project more, but in the armpits there is usually no such clear line between breast and not-breast. So in your Cleo bra the construction looks good for you, and there it does not. That's how I see it. -
Hmm. Maybe I should take a pic from below my Ellie too, because in the only pic with a similar angle my arm is raised and I definitely have that "fat roll" in that bra with my arm down, and every bra I currently own. I believe it's my tail of spence, whatever that is... wendybien is that correct? I have some degree of skin/fat hangover at the strap junction and around the band of every bra, my arms, back and shoulders are overdeveloped for my frame.
The only bra I've ever tried that contained literally every inch of skin or "fat" in my tail of spence area was the Parfait Charlotte, which I absolutely hated because the straps/sides of the cups and where they met literally ate my arm. To get rid of the appearance of any skin or tissue in that area I have to have straps cutting off my arms. It was so murderously uncomfortable, wide, suffocating, chafing, painful, etc. I don't feel a difference between my Ellie and the way this Comexim sat, but I already sent the Comexim back so can't go do another comparison at the moment.

I had the same issue in some of my bras (with "fat rolls") and I successfully managed it with choosing a bra style. I also had a problem with my lymph gland in my left underarm (it hurt because the bra prevented the flow of lymph in this place), and when I started wearing bras that do not form "fat rolls", it stopped hurting. Maybe the bra is not supposed to contain all the skin here, but at least to be more stretchy, more gentle, etc. Otherwise it looks kind of unhealthy :(
-
Well IIRC, I've had it in all of my bras except the homicidal Charlotte... so... lol. I have it in my Deco Hatty, and in my new Deco shape, but I wouldn't want my straps set any wider or wings any higher, it's horribly uncomfortable. You have a lot wider roots than I do, so if this is an issue I wouldn't know where to begin to solve it.

the best way is to try as many bras as you can!
-
See, Ive looked at a lot of Comexim measurements before, and IIRC all of the 60HHs seemed like they wouldn't have enough depth. Based on all my previous bras, it seems like I need about 9.5" of depth, possibly more since I'm going with narrower wires. This is where I get confused about why my perimeter doesn't agree with cup depths either.
I agree this thing is huge though!! This is all very frustrating lol, especially when I think they sent me a mutant 60K to begin with, based on those wide wires.
