Bra fitting help » Should I try a cup size down?
Curvy Kate » Temptress Plunge Bra (SG2811) » 30F 30:7
Issue resolved
Going a cup size down won't work as it's likely a shape issue.
Original problem
There is too much projection in the apex of the cups. The band is great as is the gore. I love the look of this bra and am wondering if it is worth trying a cup size down or if it is just a shape mismatch. The wires are a bit wide so that wouldn't be an issue with sizing down.

helpfulI think if you size down you'll quad out of this. Probably just a shape mismatch for you. If you want a nice molded bra maybe try panache black odette? It's more rounded so you wouldn't have this problem. It's on sale on Zulily right now and there's a 30F in stock.

helpful1. Curvy Kate bands have a tendency to run large. All my 28 band Curvy Kate bras stretch out to 30".
2. I have tried this bra and I used to own its clone, the Moonflower Padded Plunge bikini. I feel that a lot of the time, if you feel that it has the right amount of projection at the apex then it's too shallow at the outer parts of the cups. If you feel that has the right amount of projection at the outer parts of the cups then it might be too projected at the apex. This bra, like a lot of other bras out there, requires significant projection at the apex while demanding shallowness at the perimeter of the breasts.
3. I also felt that the cups were too separate when I tried it. Looking back at all the Curvy Kate styles I own and have owned, I see that all but two of them have cups that are 1" or more apart.
Conclusion: I recommend looking for bras where the cup separation is less than 1" and where the difference in level of projection is less pronounced between the apex and the perimeter.
