Issue resolved
I doooon't honestly remember what I did about this bra. I think I returned it, ha, and haven't really bought anything from the brand since.
Original problem
So here we have an issue that is not an option in the "how does it fit" -- comically misshapen for my breasts!
It actually kind of looks okay from both the front and the side so please observe the way I am squashed on the sides.
I love my Melody but might need to stick to seamless styles! All three seamed cups I tried did the same thing, the Daisy "plunge" I bought off Amazon (looks more like a standard balconette to me!) and the Sofia, and obviously this one, have had the same issue. It contains me fully but clearly expects a different shape!
(also the band on this one fits more "true to size" on this one, a 32 that stretches to 32, while my Melody Empreinte is a "30" that stretches to 33.)
wendybien ! Thank you again.

helpfulThis is too big on you--see all the wrinkling underneath? If you forcibly push the wires into your IMF and hoist up the cups you will see you can fit a good size hamster on top For this bra I think you would be 32F, though you might still not get a shape you really like. Many of the full cups fit "pointy."
Daisy and Sofia are made on the same template I believe. In this size range I liked the fit of Rafaela low-cut, if you ever find one.

It's definitely the first time I've ever thought of hamsters in this context!

Yes even in the proper size I don't think you will like the shape, the full cup design really just steers you out front and towards the center and the shape is more pointy than round overall. But the vertical seam and unseamed lace options (in the right size) could be more to your taste.
I have no idea why I feel the need to refer to empty cup volume in terms of what size animal would fit in there, but I totally do. What can I say, I'm already saving up for my kids' therapy (for my weird metaphors, not for actually offing any real pets by storing them in too-large bra cups).

@wendybien, LOL!@rainbrasspetals, I'll be interested to see what shape you get in the Empreinte Rafaela low-cut, if you try it.

helpfulI cant see any 'squashed on the side'. Unless you mean digging in to your armpit, on the shot where you are bent over?
are they too close together for you? Or the cups are too narrow, not round enough? It does look kinda pointy or something.

It's... the squashed part is like this: /
If you look at my right boob, the bra starts to go down in a natural shape from the armpit, then abruptly flattens and veers in a weird diagonal to the left until it forms a point, then rounds back out to go towards my chest again.
I definitely prefer round shapes. I've sent bras back for no crime other than being pointy on me. But this isn't just pointy, it's pointy and flat on that side.

Ok, that from-beneath pic really shows it! Black is harder to see shapes in, I think. The only bra I had that made a dent in teh side of my boob was a side-support panel bra from Fantasie. but thats really weird. Is it too wide for you too?
well, whatever, too big, wrong shape, and something about hamsters. Life is too short to wear bras we dont love!

It's not an abnormal shape but it is very distinctive and is the intended shape for this particular Empreinte cut (basically all the seamed full cups). The design is entirely geared to creating a narrow and projected breast shape so it kinda flattens from the side to push everything towards the center. It's definitely not going to be everyone's cup of tea, it's basically the opposite of the extreme East-West that you can get with certain other full cups.

I have experienced the same indentation "phenomenon" in a Cleo Lily. It fit the previous owner perfectly, however. I decided Lily was not compatible with my preferred shape. ;-)

helpfulI have a bra that is a little bit shaped like this and it works really well for me because I have very narrow roots (my breast tissue is all basically on the front of my ribcage). I think that this bra will be best suited to people who have very narrow but wider set in the middle roots, so even in the correct size this may still be a shape mismatch for you. It looks like you need something with more immediate projection to get rid of the empty space in the bottom of the cup

You're absolutely right. I tried it on again and pulled it up and there's room in the top at least. I wear the 30G, so of course I should have tried a 32F. I think I checked our archives here, but I'm apparently the first person ever to buy this particular style with the colored in bottom panel...
I don't think going down a size would fix the weird shape issue, though. :|a
ETA: I added a photo from underneath to further show off the funky triangle. I've had pointy before! It's not my favorite shape but it doesn't look like this, usually. XD
