Issue resolved
Bent the gore a little and it pretty much tacks now, which also got rid of most of the gaping. Since I can comfortably wear it on the tightest hooks, I might try a 65 band (with an extender) and/or try Ewa Michalak for half cups.
Original problem
This is better than the last Comexim I tried, but still not quite right. Main issues are the gore not tacking and the gaps near the center of the cups. Not really sure what's causing either.
Also, when I S&S, the cups look filled, but after a few minutes they settle and look empty again. So I don't think the cups are too small, but isn't that usually what a non-tacking gore means? Or is this some kind of shape issue?
The band feels kind of loose, and I have it on the tightest hooks. Could a 65J work?
What about customizations? Can you order reduced cups on a half-cup? Could a taller gore help the center gaping?

helpfulSo i think ur scooping a swooping issue with ur tissue settling is due to the band being to loose! thats what it is with me with a tighter band i don't need to S&S as long as i do a good one in the morning. The gore from the photo also looks pretty close to taking or am i wrong(also a loose band can cause a gore not to tack on cups that fit)? The gaping in the cups i would say is from the pressure of the straps pulling up, in some people that pushes the side breast tissue inward, if there isn't enough tissue it gaps.
So that seem in the middle, grab that same height but where the strap is on the bra so ur pinching the area between ur fingers. slightly pull up does the gap disappear? I could go all physics on why the gap is there but it has to do with forces and torque lol.
Personally i think its a shape mismatch. but i also don't think this bra is a true half cup. its acting like a plunge on you. A true half cup is supposed to cut almost straight across.
But pictures are hard and i could be wrong about a lot of this lol Hope some of it helped.I do think u can order reduced cups though but i would try the plunge with reduced cups if I was you based on this shape and go to another company for half cups like maybe Ewa michalak (ch/chp)

helpfulHi!
If the straps are placed too far apart for you (as indicated above), going down in the band will only make them go further apart.
Based on your measurements, the 70 should be tight enough and a 65 would be way too tight.
I also need to scoop and swoop continually throughout the day, even though my bras fit - in the same way I need to sometimes pull my pants up after sitting down or my shirt down after raising my hands, you know. Our bodies move around and it's only natural to be needing to adjust. You don't want a bra to fit you so stiffly that it restricts your movement.
As to the gore not tacking: I find it common with Comexim bras because their wires are very soft. their gores don't fully tack on me, while they definitely sit in the right place and the band is tight enough the gore still floats away. If this bothers you, you better look for a different brand, because this is a common fit issue for Comexim bras due to their material and construction (of course it depends on your own shape as well, but their wires are objectively and remarkably soft).
All in all, I'd say this is possibly the best fit you can get in a Comexim half cup, unless you can reduce the cup height on this one. Have you tried their plunges?Updated on April 4, 2015 Flag this

Thanks for replying!
I thought the straps would become narrower as the band became smaller to fit better on a smaller frame. I've never heard that before. And it would be one thing if I had to adjust a few times throughout the day, but the pictures here were taken minutes after I put it on. :(
Good to know this is a common problem... I did try bending the gore in a little towards me, and it's much better now.
The last Comexim bra I tried was a plunge. It was wayyy too tall for me, so half cups were suggested. Considering the half cup is still plunge-looking here, I doubt I'll have much success with them, although I haven't tried a reduced cup plunge yet.

Thanks for the suggestions! This is helpful. :)
I'll go for a 65 band next time. I hope it doesn't narrow the wires too much, though. They're about perfect where they are now.
The gaping entirely disappears if I push to gore towards me, forcing it to tack. So assuming the tighter band would fix the gore problem, I could probably tolerate the fit.
Yeah, when I put this on I was like "...This is supposed to be a half cup?" I don't mind it being like a plunge; it's just not what I was expecting. It would be nice if the wires were just a little shorter/lower, though, which is why I was thinking of getting reduced cups on it. But yeah, I should probably give up on trying to get a proper half cup from Comexim, and I do want to try EM eventually.
The tops of the cups lie completely flat when I pull up like you said. What does that mean about the shape?
