Issue resolved
Wrong shape, possibly wrong size
Original problem
Just fyi, this band is pretty small and I love it, but I could only stretch it to about 27" before distorting the wires.
While swooping and scooping takes me to about 28/29" that still means there's some distortion going on.
I don't know if that's affecting what my actual problem is though.Basically, it's squeezing my boob into a duck bill and making me quad.
I even asked my bf for input (he's been boobejucated. He said he can't unsee the bad fittings in VS magazines now.)
He said "it looks weird, but if you tuck the top part in it looks kind of normal."
When the top is tucked, it's obvious the cup is too small, but most of the depth is located further up anyway. He was right though, it looked better.I read some people saying that they cut the lace out and that helped, but I don't know if I want to attempt that and possibly throw $20 out the window.
Anyway, do I need a cup up, or is this just not for me??
It's unfortunate because I really like the shape, but it just squeezes too much. There's also slight wrinkling in some of the photos. I just want to point out that this was do to half adjusting halfway through taking pictures and I didn't actually have a problem with that.
In any case, it looks pretty bad no matter what.Return? Bigger size? I'm confused.

helpfulWrong shape, I think. Cups too short (or too closed on top) and too projected. You need something shallower and more FOT-friendly. I have no idea what bras to suggest though

helpfulAgreeing with dbmamaz about the fit issues.
Try the Cleo Marcie! It's an unpadded balconette that allows for more upper fulness and doesn't have too much projection. Marcie-clones like Maya, Nyla, etc. might also work.Apart from that, I saw that the Freya Hopscotch Longline fits you in the same size as me. If you'd like to, you can have a look at my bra list and the bras that fit me, as we seem to have a similar shape. (Though I'm slightly more shallow, I guess.)

Yeah, that always cracks me up - Marcie IS projected in the G+ cups, but apparently NOT in the cups below G
-
Yup - it's moderately shallow (neither too shallow nor too projected) and it fits just right for a lot of people this way!

Thank you! I'll take a look at your list and the Marcie :)

helpfulYes, I think you might be right about the wire distortion. If the band is stretching the tops of the wires, it would explain why the cups are pulling and cutting across the tops of your breasts. Maybe try a 32E or 32F?

I actually hadn't even thought of the wires making the top lace pull!
I think if I try it again I'll try the 32F. Thank you! :D -
Wanabee haha you were totally right! I tried it with an extender instead and it doesn't cut anymore :) woo-hoo!

helpfulFirst of all, congratulations on bf boobejucation to the point of VS critical analysis - applause is definitely called for! In terms of this bra, that top cup is definitely the culprit. I don't know the construction - is there a ribbon or some elastic across that edge? If so, removing it might well help as there does seem to be a particularly firm line there. I agree that cutting out the lace seems rather brash. Along the same lines, but not quite as brazen (if you'd rather modify than sell/throw/give away), could you release the lace little bit by little bit along the seam starting near the bra strap and moving downwards, trying on as you go. Once you get to where the shape is what you want, sew a little triangle of fabric/lace/elastic in the gap. You might even be able to use some fabric or lace salvaged from otherwise unusable lingerie : )

Haha thank you! There is an elastic across the top :[ I'm trying to sell it right now, but I really think if I can't, removing the elastic is going to be the way to go. I really like everything else about this, so if it doesn't sell, I guess I might as well :P
