Issue resolved
As suggested, I tried loosening the straps - and it did fit a little better. But when I scooped and swooped, I could see a gap at the bottom of the cup on my smaller side, which annoyed me.
I think I just dont LIKE this bra very much. I LOVE my Floris and expected to love this, but I just dont. I feel like I have enough bras I like better than this one, so I'll return it, and get the ivory floris soon. And give up on my search for boring beige bras because, while I seem to like the IDEA of owning one, I dont actually seem to like them!
Original problem
This is the Olivia, a bra based off the Panache Floris. Floris is my best-fitting bra, so I was SO VERY excited to have a neutral-colored bra in the same cut!
There are a few differences though. The fabric is softer, but does not seem to give as good support on the sides.
But the worst change - well, worst for me. It makes a lot of sense. Many people's biggest complaint about the Floris was that it was too open on top. On many people, the lace on top folded over and lay loose on top of their breasts. In fact, it did this to me before washing it - but since it didnt show through shirts, I didnt worry.
The Oliva has been modified to change that. The lace on the top panel is elastic, the cut is different and, most damning, its trimmed with elastic along the top.
This elastic cuts in to the top of my larger breast. ***CRY!***
I did not take a picture with a shirt, but I could see it. Well, the bulge wasnt super obvious, but the shape at the top of my breast just looked weird.
I am pretty sure I'm returning this, tho you are free to try to convince me otherwise. Heartbroken!

helpfulI like this much better than your Ewa, if that helps. You look better-encompassed and more supported.

helpfulWhy do they advertise it as "based off the Floris" when it is a totally different cut!?
To me it sounds more like an Andorra or Jasmine (stetchy upper cup part) cut but additionally with a elastic band along the cup edge. From my personal experience Jasmine or Andorra felt weaker than Floris or other bras without stretchy parts.
I think it's just that there is less "stability " in the top of the cup?
Hm... also since it cuts in and it is actually visible under a top, I'd return it. I mean, it is up to you. If it weren't visible under a top, maybe since I think it looks like a good fit apart from that elastic cutting in but then why own a bra that is less supportive when there is a better one out there?Updated on April 15, 2015 Flag this

Why own it? Because its beige. SIgh. The only beige bras I have dont fit. I mean, I think the 70HH - Ewa Michalak » Bm Bibi Beżowa Perła (533) is close but . . . i do fall out a bit on the bigger side.
I am starting to wonder if my bigger boob is really a JJ and I should size up. Which I really dont want to do. Grrrr.
I mean, I think the cut of the sides and bottom are the same, they just changed the top panel.

Ah yes I understand...
maybe I was a bit too negative... a beige bra is essential...
Hm maybe I was negative since I had hopes for this bra too and now crossed it off my wishlist. (I really do need the extra space in Floris... all of it :S)I don't know if sizing up would work...
maybe it will be too big all over then especially on the smaller boob. But if you have the chance to return and reorder easily (and maybe with free shipping) why not try the 32JJ? Who cares about the size that's on the label if a bra actually works? If I remember correctly, Marcie never worked for you?
-
Marcie works except for the in-cup quadding on the bigger side. It is a 32HH, tho, so I'm still tempted to try it in beige in a 32J. I'm pretty sure that sizing up in this would just make the whole thing droop, though.

helpfulI really think you can alter the gore to get that wee bit more room to accommodate your center fullness. Look for tutorials if you haven't done that before.

I dont sew ... but you mean where its pinched together to sort of shift the cups? Interesting, too, that you are calling that center fullness - I've been starting to think thats often my problem, like w my ck lola I cant seem to tag). anyways, I might put it on and try pinching it - but I'm not sure i'm willing to sew a brand new almost-full-price bra.
-
I agree with the pinch the gore idea. I alter my Cleos to close the top on my small side.
-
I mean, just pinching that fold of fabric in between the cups so that they tilt away from each other and create a more open topline will show you whether it'll work.
Yes, center fullness and lack of space for said fullness near the gore is very much STORY OF MY LIFE for peeps in larger cup sizes and with projected boobs.
-
Also, have you tried adjusting the straps? Sometimes that makes a world of difference and many people often forget it can change how the cup fits you. You could loosen the strap just on the side that's cutting in to see if it helps give you the extra room you need.
-
It didnt seem QUITE as bulgy today . . i want to find a clip and try it, but i didnt do that today - busy day
-
Slightly off-subject, have you ever tried Cleo Ellis? Seems good for center fullness, has a narrow gore, and is FOT.
-
actually i have looked at it a few times - amazon has 1 left in 32J, and I think there is a 32HH for sale here. But I think I was so excited to try the EM, and then I wanted the new color Floris (which is my fave) and then this was supposed to be the same cut as the floris, but turns out to be less open on top
yeah, i should consider the ellis before its gone - it says its discontinued
-
I like mine. It's a bit center full for me, but nothing that shows under a top.
-
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Ewa Perla is a cup size too small. and I'm starting to think I SHOULD try a padded EM for 'structure' - but I didnt think they were that center-fullness-friendly either.
