Bra fitting help » collapsing lace at top of cup, size or shape mismatch?

Issue resolved
Shape mismatch
Original problem
It's the top of the cups, the lacy part, that is causing all sorts of trouble. I feel like it asks for more central fullness at the same time as I don't see how the lace would not cut in if I did have that. When I just grab the lace at the center of the edge and pull it a little bit up and center (demonstrated in the picture) I can actually tell that I do fill the cup and the lace. It's more like the lace is being pulled down by my boobs so that it sort of collapses and folds in on it self.
help??

helpfulI think it's expecting you to have a shorter root, more of a d or b shape than what you currently have. I got this issue with Minnie too and I have a tall root. If you stick with Cleo I'd try Marcie next.

helpfulMy Minnie fits the same way. I don't consider this an issue since the lace is not visible under clothing. Many bras with the Marcie/George cut have this kind of wrinkling in the smaller size range. It's a well-known cosmetic issue and doesn't affect the fit or shape in any way.
If you like the bra and it fits - apart from the slight wrinkles -, you might just keep it. If you don't like it, I second teremaailma's suggestion to try out the Marcie.Updated on April 13, 2015 Flag this

helpfulYep! Everyone else is spot-on. You have taller roots than the bra expects. I 3rd the suggestion for Marcie--I am also a 28E, have had this problem in many bras, and Marcie is one of my best fits.
Maybe see if it shows under clothes and then decide if you want to keep it? On one bra where I had this problem, I kept wearing it for a while and realized it wasn't as bad as I thought it was originally, and it didn't show up under clothes at all. And now I consider it one of my best fits, as well

Yep! I definitely think you may have tall roots, especially looking at one of the angled side view pictures.
In certain positions, many bras will gape simply because that is not the position they are going to be in when worn normally. So, I think that is normal? May need confirmation. But my best fitting bras do a similar thing to that, as well.

Ah this thread is so helpful I also had similar issues with the Lucy. It's good to know that the lace fabric itself is the issue.
ah.. so maybe I have tallish roots then? I'm still trying to figure out my shape.
To all you who helped, there is an other issue that have with both the Minnie and the Lucy, if I put my arms out in front of me the lace lifts completely off my chest and hovers like an inch out.
