Issue resolved
I'm gonna say this fits, even though it isn't perfect (shape of cup placement at base of gore).
Original problem
I originally felt this bra was a good fit, but I noticed the band cuts into my sides like all my other bras. Also, after looking at a picture head-on, I am wondering if the cups are too separated at the bottom of the gore for me. Thoughts? Opinions? Was I originally right that this is actually a good fit for me?

helpfulLooking at your pictures, I think you're probably right about the gore spacing at the bottom, but it looks like it's only just a hair too wide. As for the band, if it just has the appearance of cutting in and doesn't hurt you, ride up or move around while you're wearing it, I wouldn't be too worried. I have this in a lot of my bras just due to the way my weight is distributed on my torso, and it doesn't compromise the fit or cause pain. A shot of the back of the bra while it's on you would help to clarify this, but I know that can be tricky if you don't have someone around to help you.
It looks like a good, even if not A+++ perfect fit to me, so I guess it depends on whether any of the things you've identified bother you enough for you to not want to keep it.

helpfulI'd say that sizewise you are spot on and I cannot find a fit issue here. If you feel no discomfort while wearing it and find it an acceptable shape under clothes, this tiny bit of gore separation shouldn't bother you much. I might not be a perfectionist, and definitely not a fitting expert, but I find this a pretty decent fit.

helpfulYeah a slightly closer set shape (like 'UU') should work better for you than this bra, which has more of a /\ in the bottom of the cups. However I agree with other commenters; it looks pretty good in pictures!
As long as there's no discomfort, I wouldn't worry too much about the cutting into your sides. At least visually, it seems totally within margins. Most people with some flesh on their torso will have this (I know I do!).
If there's actual cutting in (chafing, angry red marks) I would reconsider the band size or re-evaluate the material of the band? Some people don't do well in mesh bands, or generally bands that have most tension on the outer seams (that look like " ( " from the front, with the top and bottom seam putting more pressure into your skin).
Bras with sturdy unseamed bands sadly are rare, especially in larger sizes ): I wonder why?
Anyway, if it bothers you a lot / but you feel you can't size up; there's longline bras (less tension / more distribution of pressure)? Or bras with different material, like more satiny bands; e.g. Masquerade Rhea? Less 'give' so perhaps size up, but the band should have less of an (----) shape? Or perhaps higher side wings / side support could also help to give you the look you prefer.
Good luck!
