Claudette » Dessous Mesh Underwire Bra (CD2000) » 28E 28:6
Issue resolved
Dessous is unlikely to be a good fit regardless of size.
Original problem
So this bra is clearly too small in the cups (I quad, the gore doesn't tack) but I was wondering what size would be likely to work. I've felt recently like everything is making me quad, I measured again, and sure enough my breast perimeter has grown by .5 (or I'm measuring better somehow). I love the color on this, I just want to know if I should order a 28F, 28FF, or just cry about it not working for me. My concern with the FF is the wire width. I tend to like cup width of under 5 inches and cup depth of around 8.7-9. Any other fit issues you can see would be lovely.
Edit: Added photos that better show the quadboob issue. Sorry for the awful quality
Edit: This bra fits my 28D (shallow) younger sister perfectly :// wtf claudette.

helpfulThe Dessous is pretty shallow on the inner half of the cups, even though it has depth at the apex. So I'm not sure it will ever be a great fit. It's also weirdly tall, which can be an issue for petite builds or people with high-set boobs.

helpfulI'm concerned with the way its cutting in to your underarm. (I cant really see any quadding). But can you loosen the straps any?

I do have quite a bit of just underarm fat/tissue, it shows up in basically everything and the elastic edges do cut in a bit. The quadding is really hard to see in pictures, but it's quite considerable. I'm not quite sure how to get a better picture. The straps can be loosened, but they then slip off of my shoulders.

You could try a top view maybe, looking down?
anyways, hopefully someone else will come and have some better ideas. but i suspect the shape could be the problem.

Hmm yeah I'll try that. I think its probably a bit of both. I just bought the size I'd normally wear in a 3part unlined in this instead of looking at measurements first (dumb), but the 7.7 inch cup depth is much smaller than my horizontal perimeter. The mesh is a bit stretchy so in places it's just crushing me down smaller instead of overflowing as much as a moulded this small would. But yeah, I'm not sure if it will work even in a bigger size :(

ok, i can see it now!

helpfulFor the sake of pure science, you could try to get 28F in this model, but I'd do it only in case of 100% hassle-free return guaranteed. Because despite your feeling cups being too small there are wrinkles on them already. I guess 28F, and 28FF for sure, will bring no relief you expected but more wrinkles, which you'll try to compensate by tightening the straps which, in turn, will bring more massacre to your underarms and also result in cups-too-tall-damn-them-all problem that petite frames get far too often.
So gather your strength and tell Claudette it's time to leave, yes she's pretty, yes you wanted to love her, but this match was not made in heaven, no cries.

Yeah unfortunately the sale has no returns or exchanges. The cups definitely are too small, and I'm positive the the F wouldn't wrinkle from being too big. The bras that fit me best have around 9 inches of depth. The wrinkles on the cups come from me awkwardly taking pictures with my phone and the way my breasts are squishing the cups. But yeah I think it would probably be too tall in a bigger size. I also think that the wires may get too wide for me.
I may try Miss Mandalay's sort of similar looking bra. I love the style so much, but it's not as similar to the fit of my Freya plunges as I thought it would be.

helpfulI'd say stay away from the 28FF - I have one in that size that goes way too far under my armpit and is too tall as well. I am also just experimenting with the Dessous and only tried this season's bras, which I hear are a different fit from the ones you have. Given that you are narrower from me in the underbust, I'm guessing that the fit would only get worse for you. My bet is on the 28F. I have a 30E that I'm thinking about taking the gore in to get a decent fit. wendybien is right, the Dessous is shallow near the gore. Oh, but with these colours and design, not to mention the price at the ancore, I'd encourage you to give the 28F a chance - purely for science sake if nothing else.

That makes so much sense, I was trying to figure out which section was too shallow.. The cups on this one aren't terribly tall, but probably if I sized up to get enough depth it would be too tall. Sigh...
