Bra fitting help » Diagonal Crease - wires too narrow?
Cleo » Lily Balconnet Bra (7351) » 36G 36:9
This is currently my best fitting bra - I started wearing the 36FF about 6 months ago but moved up to the G pretty shortly after. I think I've had some migration/breast growth and possibly a little weight gain. The black bra seems to have a little more loose fabric at the top than the the blue bird print in the same size.
My breasts are pretty projected, FOB, splayed but close-set. I assumed I had narrow roots and after comparing my breasts to the pictures on Venusian Glow's article about root widths that seemed correct. When I do the push test it looks like my roots are a little less than an inch inside the Lily underwires.
I've noticed is the diagonal crease where the top of the underwire sort of digs in. It's not painful but it leaves a red mark at the end of the day. This makes me think that my roots are actually wider, or that my breast tissue widens as it moves up toward my armpits. Also, I carry weight around my stomach so it could be that this is just some extra "flesh".

helpfulLooks like your tail of spence to me - it's a trail of breast tissue that extends towards your armpit. Everyone has it, some people's are more prominent than others. Nothing to worry about unless it is painful. The TOS doesn't have to be in a bra cup. Otherwise the wires look good and the fit looks good. Rumor has it the swan print runs a little bigger than the others. I personally found that to be true.

helpfulWhen a wire is sitting on breast tissue ALL DAY you will feel pain, I guarantee it! If it doesn't hurt, I wouldn't worry.
However, between the gore that doesn't entirely tack and the wrinkling in various parts of the cup this makes me think you might be able to get a better fit in a different bra. When I was in the 11-12" cup depth range, I found Chantelle's Rive Gauche to be a super easy fit and incredibly comfortable especially when I was carrying a bit of extra weight. You might try it, it's easy to get a hold of usually.
You might also like Fantasie Rebecca (molded spacer cup) or Fantasie Jacqueline.

Seconding that you will feel pain if the wires are on your breast tissue all day. And definitely that the swan print Lily runs large.

I third the you'd feel it if it was on your tissue comment. The cups look wide, and all around too big for you. A well fitting bra is comfortable but fits in a way that may seem snug if you have a shape miss match. If the cup was narrower it would also quit poking because it's hitting that muscle in your arm, if the end of the wire was on the front side of the muscle rather then lined up youd be golden. Wider cups would just pull your breast further apart from the front of your body and give you a funky shape and actually lose tends to be less comfortable in a bra then snug.

helpfulYou might get a better fit with the Cleo Kali (I hear Lucy is similar shape as well). The wires are a tad wider and don't seem to hit people in the same place as many of the unlined Cleo cuts can. Sometimes it almost looks as if they are adding armpit rolls for lack of a better term. My parrot Lily is somewhat similar but doesn't poke me. I've tried a number of cleos, and I don't know what is different about the swan print but it's the only one in that shape and model I've tried that did funny things with lumps and bumps and wrinkles etc. I tried multiple sizes and finally gave up. I have a few reviews in 30F and 32E with comparisons on Lily and Kali if that might help at all. I do think a shorter or longer wire and slightly wider might be more comfortable because then it wouldn't be poking you right there.

Sorry if it's a silly question, but what is the "push test" ? (I'm not a native speaker).

mmmm....all those suggestions are good bras that may indeed fit the OP quite well, but, having stretchy cups, they are all the totally opposite shape of this one (and of unlined cleos in general). I for absolute sure would size down in the cup in all of them.
i keep looking, but between the mostly black bra and the arms over the head, i just can't really tell how this bra fits, except a vague feeling that the cup could be smaller. it seems ok if it's comfy, and i definitely agree that there's no root width issue happening.
