Bra fitting help » Cups wrinkle at top and somewhat on bottom, weird shape
Freya » Patsy Plunge Balcony Bra (1221) » 30E 30:6
Issue resolved
Wrong shape, need to find a bra that is more tall root-friendly.
Original problem
Can't tell if I should try this in 30DD or not.
I'm assuming it's the wrong shape.
My boobs are literally like ">" shaped, so I have very little tissue on top or bottom, only in the center.
If a cup doesn't partially push my tissue down and round it out, this is the result.
Cone boobs with extra bra on top and bottom =xIs the cup too large, or shape just wrong?
I'm still measuring 30:6.

helpfulNot very good at this, but it looks to me like you need immediate projection (which I think this is good at) but you are also I think slightly FOB and either tall-rooted or . . . or i dont know, your ribs flare out above your breast? I'm pretty sure thats a tall root.
You perimeters vary around the cup dept, I dont think its particularly a size problem. and going down a size i would expect would make the top of the bra cut in even worse.
ok, went and looked . . i forget, some cleo bra you added recently . . . i cant imagine you would ever want to wear this when you that maya lol

Hi Queequeg0925! This is the first time I've commented on a fitting post, but your bust looks very similar to mine. I very comfortably fill/wear a 30F in the half cup Patsy but struggle to fill out the 30E in the unlined plunge style as I find them soooo not compatible with my shape. Of all the bras I've ever tried on I think the unlined Freyas are standouts as bras that will just never fit me properly, and I suspect you may be the same. I tend to describe myself as more full on the bottom, and I think these unlined Freyas are for people who are even but with A LOT of projection and a lot of inner fullness (what I think of as very naturally cleavagey!) which I really don't have. May be best to move on to other styles I think...?

emsiepie Thanks for commenting :) I think you're right that it's just the wrong shape and you need a lot more projection to fill it out.

helpfulIt's the wrong shape, this bra is too closed on top for you - you have more upper fulness than the bra can accomodate. Sizing down in the cup will make the cutting in even worse.
Unpadded bras with more openness on top would fit you better, such as the Cleo Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) and bras with the same cut.Updated on May 25, 2015 Flag this

Or you can try the padded half cup version of this bra because it will accommodate tall roots.

Agreeing with courtnelius, the Freya Patsy Padded Half Cup Bra (1223) and other Freya bras with the same cut are also worth a try.

@btacrastination I wasn't too too worried about the top part because it just lies on my boobs/muscle instead of squishing them and wasn't noticeable in a top, but I definitely think you're right and sizing down isn't going to fix anything at all and will just create more problems :(
Thanks for the recommendation also! I've had a few people recommend the Marcie, so I have high hopes for it.Hopefully I can find one soon!

courtnelius I actually like the half cup a lot more (appearance wise-I haven't tried it yet) than this, but was worried that the wires might be too wide and. cups too shallow.
I'll definitely try it out if it's good for tall roots though! That's my biggest problem with unlined bras, especially any plunge style.

If you're between sizes and are afraid of too-wide wires, you can size down in the half cup because the open top offers spill room. That's what I did when I bought my 30F. I could also probably wear the 30FF.

dbmamaz Yep! when I was really thin you could see a lot of ribcage and hardly any boob. I'm pretty sure they flare out a lot, but I think I also have tall roots. It's hard to tell what's going on.
And yes!! I'm so in love with the Maya, and I just got another one(Lucy) in 32E from a Bratabase user. I definitely need to size down in both, but I have high hopes for Cleo :)
I think I just want to decide whether to get rid of this and try again, or accept that it's not for me and let the model go completely.
Right now I'm leaning more towards letting it go.
