Bra fitting help » Need to size down band, but what cup volume should i choose?

Issue resolved
Will choose a 70FF in this style next time.
Original problem
First time trying Ewa. I chose a 75 band because every time I'd look at a 70 the measurements would say it only stretched to 30 inches, so i was confident that i needed to size up. I guess i was wrong! The band is far too big for me. I tried on to see how the cups fit and now I'm not sure what cup size to choose next time. My boobs fill the bottom but there's a significant space on top. So should I go down a cup volume and choose my usual size of 70FF next time? Or should i choose the same volume, 70G and order reduced cups? (I'm only 4' 10", so i assume i have very short roots.) Or, is it possible that with a properly fitting band I'll be able to scoop everything in in a 70G and it'll stay and fill the cup?

helpfulEwa doesn't allow for customizations really. Many of the bands do run tight, but I do know this one to be true to size. I would say probably take a band size down and a cup size down, so 70FF in this style.

helpfulRemember, a 75FF has a larger cup than a 70FF. You probably would have wanted a 75F. So a 70FF will have a smaller cup than this 75FF

Right, I had chosen the 75FF even though it was 1 volume larger because the depth of the cup sounded right from the measurements in the listing. I try to go by measurements first (I usually need a cup depth of about 10 inches) but this time I ended up waaaay off.

I think this is a half cup? Which might be able to hold more breast with less depth because it covers less of the breast.
I was told that plunges work that way - they dont cover as much, so a smaller depth measurement holds the same breast.
Plus - if the wires are narrower, you arent wasting part of the volume of the cup where you have no breast, so you can fit in a smaller volume cup.
The measurements on EMs seem totally nuts! My floris, which I love, is a 14 inch depth. My latest EM, an S, is a 12.2! I do get the slightest bit of bubbling over the edge, and probably could go up a cup size, but . . . it does not LOOK 2 inches too small, kwim?
here, my 32J - Panache » Floris Balconnet Bra (7311) and my 75J - Ewa Michalak » S Eden (730)
I asked a TON of questions before trying any EMs because I'd seen a lot of these sorts of weird numbers discussed already.

That does make sense about plunges and halfcups. I had wondered about that cuz i have halfcups that are less than my usual cup depth but still seem to fit fine.
Wow, the embroidery on the eden is so pretty. :o i actually recently bought a floris because marcie clones have always fit me, but it turned out i think the cup is a bit too tall and wide for me and it just fit strangely. -
Yeah a lot of the cups fit differently in different size ranges. The floris is tall, but apparently so are my boobs (not me tho!). I love the way it lifts and separates - looks good under high-necked t-shirts.
The Eden is so beautiful!! Its not actually embroidery, its a colored lace overlay. Its a different fit, definitely more for lower cut shirts.
I still feel the padding of a padded bra is enough to make me hate my boobs all over again for being too big, tho.

Funny enough, i feel like my boobs look bigger in non-padded than any padded bra I've tried yet. I really like that front-and-center look of marcie and lily. I guess I'd rather have the appearance of projection and a round shape instead of cleavage, which i feel like is not the choice the American market caters to.

Can you see this? I swear I'm all boob. wearing the eden. Maybe its partly the shirt? idk. https://goo.gl/photos/s3UHcdzB1KdGv7sQ6

yup! you still look proportional and all to me, i don't think you have to worry so much! i still see a whole person, not a walking pair of boobs :P

Aww thanks. I guess we all see the worst in ourselves sometimes.
