Issue resolved
Bought a 36 E..love it.
Original problem
The back is obviously a size too big; I was wary of the snug band but will be sizing down to a 36. The problem is that I'm not sure if I should also size down in the cups to a 36E or if I should keep the cup volume and go 36F. The measurement table has me worried about the width of both sizes. I'm also already unable to fill the apex of the cup and upper section, so more projection would be a bad thing. The only bras I've been wearing are Bali 36DDD (which run big in the cup) so I don't yet have a great idea of evaluating shape and fit). Any advice is welcome.

helpfulIt looks like most owners of this bra (reading other comments here on bratabase) size down a cup. I have not owned a sports bra, but I thought they were supposed to be VERY tight, to stop bouncing when exercising. If you intend to exercise in it, I would definitely try going down a cup volume and try the 36E.

helpfulYou absolutely do not want extra space in the cup of a sports bra (unless you are only wearing it for very low impact activities such as cycling, yoga, Pilates etc.) So you would want to size down to a 36E.
If you are at all concerned with cup width, for example if you have wider or narrower breast roots than what is typically offered in bras your size, did you know that Panache makes this same bra in a non-underwire version? This can be a great solution if you want to sidestep the finicky cup width issue. All reviews indicate uplift and support are equal to the underwired version.

helpfulYes I would go down in both cup volume and band - probably 34F or 36E?
Hard to tell in pics (because it's a sports bra / full coverage style you can't really see what's going on cup-wise) but the cups do seem quite large.Especially in a sports bra, you want all breast tissue to be compressed and 'held in' against your torso. No bouncing or flopping! So for me, wrinkling cups or not filling the apex would not be acceptable for that reason. And a tight band can definitely help keeping you in place!
Therefore, a 34 band might be your best option and if possible, I'd consider trying try both 1 and 2 cupsizes down? So 34E and F. Or if a tight band doesn't work for you, 36DD and E?
Btw I'm unsure, did you mean the width (measurements) on smaller sizes seemed too narrow?

helpfulSome sport bras go taller with the size up, and some go deeper. I think, this bra is not tall for you enough, because a lot of tissue in your armpits is outside the bra. If you feel like you are not deep enough for bigger size, I'd recommend shock absorber instead of panache. Shock abrosbers are not so deep, theis cups mostly get taller, and they are aslo tighter in the band

The wireless one isn't cut as high as the wired one, which can be a boon for shorter rooted/high set ladies. I don't have the gap at the top in mine, that I had in the wired.
