Original problem
Help please? Medication changes have shrunk my band size and expanded my bust size, so I'm slowly replacing my bras. I'm 5'0" (1.52m) tall, with a short torso and somewhat FOB, wide and wide-rooted breasts, and wide shoulders. My underbust crease/IMF measures 8 1/2" to 9" from sternum to armpit. My ribs measure a comfortable 27" on average, plus or minus half an inch when I'm bloated or dehydrated.
A month ago, this Cleo Maddie in 28F fit fairly well, but now I'm definitely overspilling at the gore while fitting the outer edge of the cups just fine. These pics were taken today.
I've been looking at bras with a cup depth in the 8 1/2-9" range, but the Bratabase recommendations seem to be suggesting only bras with a much smaller cup depth. At this point I really have no idea what cup depth I should be looking at. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

helpfulI see that breast tissue is spilling out at the top outer edges of your bra. I think that it is worthwhile to find bras whose underwires come up higher at the outer edges. It would better contain your breast tissue. It might be worthwhile to try this bra in 28FF. If your breast tissue is still escaping at the top outer edges, it may be a shape incompatibility.

helpfulThis is too small, obviously, but at your current size you probably also will need to change to a different cup shape. Shape changes along with size, because root width and projection are all relative to the overall volume of the breast. When the amount of breast tissue increases on an already fully-grown adult whose ribcage size does not change, the only way for the breast to grow is "out" i.e. you will become fuller but not really a lot wider. If you previously had an 8" breast perimeter and were comfy in 5.3" wires that means you used to have wider and shallower breast proportions, but now that your 10" breast perimeter is almost 2x your root width (which does not change much) you are now in the narrow to average width, and average to projected range.
Unfortunately this means you now need to start over in terms of finding shapes that work! Maddie is one of the shallowest shapes around so you do have plenty of room even just within the Cleo range to find better shapes. Try middle of the road designs like Marcie, or if that is too tall perhaps the Lucy would suit you. However I'm willing to bet that your boobs are now taller than they used to be--usually when the underbust gets smaller and the boobs get bigger, that means that your inframammary crease is lower than it used to be, and now falls where your torso is smaller.

The exact size to try will depend on the bra--even within one brand they don't all run quite the same. However, you want to look up cup depths on here and I'm guessing you'll want a cup depth that is in the region of 9.2" to 9.5."

Thanks so much. That is a huge help!
Thanks for your help! I have no idea how my cup size keeps increasing when I keep losing weight, but my breasts are definitely wider and much more widely splayed now than ever before. Do you have any idea what sizes I should be looking at? The recommendations page seems to like 28E and F Freyas for me, but I can't imagine how they would fit.
