Bra fitting help » Cups too big on same size bra
Cleo » Minnie Balconnet Bra (7431) » 32FF 32:8
Issue resolved
yeah, I'll just chalk it up to size inconsistency and try a smaller cup size instead.
Original problem
Ok guys, this is a mystery to me. This 32G Minnie is too large for me in the cups, clearly. The band is perfect, but I swim in the cups.
The weird thing is that I already own a red Minnie in the exact same size, with the exact same measurements as this one (I double checked), which fits perfectly! How can this be?
Should I order a cup size smaller? But that would mean that the wires will also be smaller, while the wires on the red Minnie I own are perfect, and identical to this one. I'm so confused?!
I bought this together with a Minnie longline in the same size, which seems about the right cup size for me (although a tad large in the cups too), and a Lily in the same size, which fits exactly like this blue Minnie: too large in the cup as well.
Ps: I seem to have the most space in the top of the cup, although the bottom also does not quite fill out.

helpfulCleo has been known for having size discrepancies. You may indeed find that 32FF in this colorway provides a better fit.
I personally order Cleo bras in 2 different sizes every time I buy them. For styles where the bands run large or true to size, I always order 28DD and 28E. For styles where the bands run small, I always order 30D and 30DD.

helpfulSize inconsistences between different colors of the very same bra are a thing that's quite common in Cleo bras, unfortunately.
The bottom part of the cups seems to fit just perfectly on you - it's just the top part that's a bit loose.
Is this acutally visible under clothing? Maybe it's not even visible?I would not size down in the cup, since the wires might become too narrow for you. If the top part of the lace really bothers you, or is showing through clothes, just try tucking in the lace at the center gore and sewing it down with a few stitches to make sure it's laying smoothly at the top. I think this small fix would be a way better response to this very minor fit issue than ordering a completely new size that might have other fit issues as a side effect.
Good luck!

Charlotteke Yes, it doesn't look too bad in the pictures and you didn't mention the uplift issue in your description at all, so I couldn't take that into consideration.
I would highly recommend to do a T-shirt test nonetheless. Most important point, check if you have still some 'wiggle room' with the wires. The underwires in a 32FF would be 0.5 cm narrower and slightly shorter than these ones and this *may* become an issue, so I highly recommend to double check where your breast tissue ends and if narrower wires can work for you.

bracrastination: I failed the t shirt test, the lace on top of the cup sort of collapses and it shows. The support thing is not too dramatic, but I noticed later when looking at my side shot that my boobs look way pointier than they do in my red Minnie.
I tried to find out about the wires and my roots, but I'm having great difficulty telling where my roots end and what actually constitutes a proper fit in that department.
When not on, most of my bra wires seem too narrow, so when I just try on one cup, while not wearing the bra the wires cannot go around my boobs easily. However, while wearing my bras, it seems like the wires do encompass my tissue properly. The Cleos I own are clearly narrower than other bras I own, and whe I wear them I notice that their wires ends more to the front of my armpit than my Freya wires do. However, it is not uncomfortable (it doesn't feel like the wire is on my tissue or anything), and I actually prefer how this looks. But it may not actually be a proper fit?
I'll just try a size smaller and see if that works, if not, I can always keep searching for a better match right?

helpfulyeah, go down a cup size. different runs or colorways often run differently. but it's seeming like several of these 32G cleos are too big.
the secret is out of the bag: measuring bras consistently and accurately is very difficult. don't worry about it. just get a smaller size. the wires may not change at all, and they definitely wont change enough to spoil the fit for you.

Well, bracrastination the gaping is really quite bad, maybe it doesn't show properly in the pictures, but I can easily put my phone in there, that's not gonna fly! I also do not get the lift and shape I do get in the red version, so I've decided to order the 32FF and see what happens...
Saskia_C I had heard about size discrepancies in other styles, but not about the Minnie. Weirdly enough, the Lily I ordered in the same size had the exact same problem, while both Cleo bras I already own are perfect. If all else fails I can stock up on red Minnies (as I seriously love that bra), but that color shows through clothes so badly.
