Bra fitting help » Big on top, high gore
Curvy Kate » Princess Balcony Bra (CK6001) » 30DD 30:5
Issue resolved
Bra too big, and wrong size.
Original problem
It's loose in the upper area of the cup
Gore is too high
What size in this bra can I get that will fit, with a lower gore?

helpfulCurvy Kate Princess is a tough fit in general so don't get discouraged on this one. Plunges are likely to work out better for you if you like a lower gore and they generally have narrower wires (atleast that's what I've found. Freya plunges in your size range are quite projected and narrow wired. Doodle, Icon, Icon Padded, Arabella, Ooh la la, and Siren could all be possibilities. If you want to stick to Curvy Kate Dare or Daisie might work out better for you. Both are quite projected, but Daisie runs big in the cups so I'd size down. Have you done the fullness check to find out where yours is? It looks to me that you might be at least a little full on bottom, but that could just be the bra. If you look for styles that are more closed on top you will have less issues with gaping at the top, but this does look too big overall.

When you lean over like that do you generally feel as though most of your breast tissue is above or below the nipples? Or is it just even? You don't seem to have a lot of upper fullness (from how Princess and Izzy have fit), but it could just be a shorter even breast.
-
That's the thing, it feels like the top part of my breasts are 'heavier' when I lean over.
If I push my nipples back, I have some breast tissue 2 inches away from my collar bone. I don't know if my breasts are considered throat, but I am short. -
Hmmm... I'm not sure then. Here's a shape guide if it helps you at all to identify what shape you might be closest to. http://i.imgur.com/VPH5K0E.png
Obviously they don't cover every shape out there. I definitely would try some styles that are more closed on top though. All of the more open ones seem to gape on you. I feel as though us petites have a particularly hard go of it with a lot of these brands! So many wide straps and wide cups. -
I'm between 1/5 and 2/5. The upper line isn't as straight as 2/5, but it isn't as curved as 1/5. It seems closer to 2/5 if I cover my nipples.
Which styles are more closed on top? -
Cleo Lucy/ Kali and Bravissimo Alana are classic ones people recommend for that shape (but I haven't tried either). That's about where I thought I was based on the chart. I still think the plunges I mentioned above might be a good fit. The god of narrow/projected is Comexim so keep your eyes out for anything around your size.

helpfulFirst, that cup is too big, so its hard to tell if there's other shape related problems. Have you tried the 30D in that style?
Also, plunge bras tend to run lower in the gore than balcony bras, so they might suit you better. If the bra otherwise fit but the gore was uncomfortable, I'd suggest bending it, but here there's not much point.
Okay, I'll take back what I said earlier and agree with the suggestions to look for a Freya plunge in 28DD (Freya bands run big). FWIW, while my Freya Patsy is big 'n pointy, my Freya Doodle is a perfectly nice (if a little loud) bra. Also, at your size pointiness would be less pronounced, anyway.
Before you buy (I assume you'll have to purchase online), take a look at reviews and pictures, especially in your size.
Good luck!

Thanks. I always look at reviews before I buy. I look on here, as well as do a google search.
I feel like it's so hard for me because I have no idea what my shape is (aside from projected).
This particular bra, I bought because it was one of my recommended bras that came up when I put in my measurements.
I haven't looked at any freyas, because I believe I read they had wide wires. -
FWIW, my own recommendations have no basis in reality. I think very narrow roots throws everything off. I have a 28DD in my recommendations in a model where I've LISTED a 28F being too small in the cup.
However.
The Freya plunges, in general, have projection and fairly narrow wires. I think it's the half cups that run wide and shallow.

I think you should try to find the correct cup volume, so in this case 1 cup down. I do not have a sensitive sternum at all and never have trouble with gores in my correct size, but put me in a cup that is significantly too roomy and loose and suddenly the wires hurt a lot--because there is not enough boob pushing back against them!
In your size range Freyas definitely do not have narrow wires. It's the ladies with G+ cups who have trouble with Freyas, due to features that are unsuited to their needs (soft wires, cups starting to be too wide for many etc.)

I'm either FOB or even. When I lean over (without a bra on) my nipples point straight down to the ground (so I would assume I'm even)
