Bra fitting help » Underwire lifts away from ribcage, otherwise comfortable.
Elomi » Bijou Banded Moulded Bra (8722) » 42G 42:9
This bra is comfortable and disappears under shirts, which is what I wanted it for. However, the underwire is lifting away from my ribcage a bit. Do I just need to bend the underwire? Also, I feel like it makes me a little "east/west" compared to my Matilda and Soraya. Do I need to try a different cup size? Is the band too loose? Is this just a shape mismatch?

helpfulThe cups are at least two sizes too small judging by the wire lifting away and the amount of quadding you're getting. That said, the wires look like they're already too wide in this size so I would say overall this bra is a shape mismatch for you.
I don't think you need a smaller band size based on your ribcage measurements.

helpfulYou had the right instinct... underwire lifting all the way off the body is a sure sign of band too loose, cup too small! I would size down to 40 bands and if you like this style in Elomi, go up 1 or even 2 cups (so, 40H or HH). Molded bra cup styles fit much shallower than others in your size range so you have to be quite careful. If you're not in love with the style then a seamed one is likely to work better.

helpfulFWIW, the bijou was my first bra when I was trying to find my right size. It was not my right size, but it was comfortable and looked fine under shirts. Its a forgiving bra, but you'll probably find better

helpfulI agree with Wendybien. I think you should go down to a 40 band and up to a 40HH. The band has considerable puckering on it. Vertical seamed bras for full on bottom, that's what I think you need. I couldn't get Freya Deco to work for me at all, because of its shallow base and my name is Freya. Lolol. A 40HH in another type of bra will feel good and look awesome on you! Conversely a Panache Sports Bra (5021) in 40GG might become your fav day bra!
