Bra fitting help » Which EM shapes would work for me?
Ewa Michalak » S Lila Roz » 75F 34:7
Issue resolved
Try 3D or 3DM from Ewa Michalak. Need to size down.
Original problem
This is a 75F in the S shape. I measure 72cm but I know EM often runs tight. I am
-Shallow
-Soft tissue
-FoBLooking for recommendations on what shapes may work best. I’ve tried PL and my boobs end up falling into the center.
I hate hard wires like those on Cleo.

helpfulThe bigger the cup size, the further apart Ewa will position her straps – so that issue should get at least slightly better (along with less gaping at the top and sides) with reduced cup size. Have you tried using cookies with Ewa bras before? They can also help in certain fit situations.
Also, how is the band feeling? I think it’s worth mentioning that Ewa is a little weird with sister sizing (the cups on her 60H are slightly larger than those on her 65GG), so if you need to change bands, that slight cup size changes could also be worth taking into account.
As for which cuts Ewa offers that would work for you, my best guess is 3D or 3DM. Those both denote plunge-style bras, with and without padding, respectively. I say this because I have heard before that both of these styles run quite shallow.

The band is ironically fine. I’ve been ordering EMs probably for about five years and most of the time they’re so tight!
I will try those out! The PL made my breasts just kiss in the middle and fall out but maybe the ones geared towards smaller sizes will work. Thank you!

Good luck! Maybe a smaller size in S will work better. They are usually the shallower padded bra. And a bit more closed off on top. I’m not sure if you would fit CHP or not. It’s pretty projected and open on top, but maybe a cup size down in it would work.

I think that’s where the issue is. On ABTF, they always recommend vertical seamed bras if you’re shallow. So that’s what I’ve sought out. But I usually get a flat on top look.

S seems to work on a variety of shapes if you’ve got soft tissue, so that could be worth trying. My gut answer is that CHP probably would be a shape mismatch, since usually that’s recommended if you’re really projected, but I have zero experience with that cut so take it as you will.
I’m glad this bra’s band is comfy for you and not too tight like the others. If 70E is too small in the cups and 75F is too large, maybe try a 75E? It will be both a band and a cup larger than 70E. If you want the same (actually slightly smaller because of how Ewa scales sister sizes) cup volume as 70E, but with a bigger band, go for 75DD.

Ok! I’ll chrck out 75DDs. Thanks for the recommendations!

Good luck, uniteacher!! Let us know how it goes!!

uniteacher In my experience ABTF people often start out with UK brands and those brands do indeed tend to make their vertical-seam styles shallow (with a couple exceptions e.g. I think Cleo Mimi for example). However, there is nothing inherently "shallower" about vertical seam constructions and other European brands with more sophisticated patterning make vertical-seam designs that fit very deep indeed! Plus, if you are petite, have little upper pole tissue or have a petite breast height, there is the problem of finding a brand where cups of appropriate depth and width, will not be too tall for you. Half cups and vertical seam designs are often intended to provide a rounded, cakes on plate look but if the cup is designed on the assumption that your breast apex is 1" higher than it really is, it will cover you up well past the point at which there could be a rounding effect. So, looking at specific measurements for a particular bra's cups will probably help you assess what shape is most suited to your proportions, and from there you can fine tune exact size.
-
That makes sense about the apex and why always look flat!

helpfulThis looks to be too big for you. Obviously for a fit request, more pictures of you in the bra help us more.

a 75 F has the same cup as a 70FF. if you go up in the band you have to come back down in the cup
-
Thanks! The sizing definitely is bad for me! Usually 70Es are good but after three years of multiple pregnancies and breastfeeding I thought I should go up. I guess I went too far!

I also think maybe 3D/3DM might be better since Ewas can be quite projected and you are shallow.
