Bra fitting help » BM bra - supposed to fit like this? Or too big?

Issue resolved
The bra is too big.
Original problem
My BM Malachit does not look like it is too big, but it "feels too big". The lacey part of the cup lies flat, it does not wrinkle or gap. Picture: http://bra.pe/IpIW/
But my boobs just lie in the cups, the lace is not stretched much, there is lots of room left. I wonder if that is the reason the bra does not feel as supportive anymore? Here is a picture: http://bra.pe/Ip5o/
On this picture the lace does lie flat on my bigger boob, but wrinkle just very slightly on my smaller: http://bra.pe/IpI0/
I also thought that the BM is quite full coverage on me, it looks more like a full cup. Is it really too big? Should I size down?

helpfulI find the K cup BMs really tall. Part of the issue is the bra is too tall for you and I also think it is slightly too big. I would try sizing down just to see how it feels. If the size down is too small, you might have to switch over to the SF style. Those are shorter than the BMs are in a K cup (at least in my size).

Antonina gives me a different side profile shape than my other BMs. It’s probably not the best one to compare with.

helpfulThe BM was very full coverage on me and had a little empty space at the top, but sizing down a cup size had wires too narrow, so I kept it. I'm pretty even on top vs. bottom fullness, and as far as I can tell my breast tissue doesn't go up very high compared to some people. I didn't have quiet that much extra space or wrinkling though.

Thanks for your comment :) Does your bra feel supportive even though it is a bit big?
I have the problem that I get neck and shoulder pain from a full day of wear of this bra. I used to be very full on top / tall breast roots before I lost weight. I think that I would have definitely needed the tall cup in this bra in the past. I'm now more even full / less tall and it's new to me to size down in bras because they are too tall.

If youre getting pain I'd say it doesnt fit somehow. Mine is one of the most comfy I've ever owned, but not the size I expected. The calculator gave me a 34FF but that was waaayyy too big. Pain like that is usually a cue to me to size down, although I tend to lose band sizes too. Like going from a 34F to a 32F. I'd try sizing down and see if it helps, or maybe try an SF since they are lower cut maybe??

EM size calculator gave me 70K or 75JJ but that was when I started to wear their bras 5 months ago. Maybe it overestimated? But I also lost 1-2 cup sizes? I think if a bra is comfy and supportive it is a win even though there are minor fit issues.
I have an SF in the same size, it's a bit better (not as big) but also gives me pain at the end of the day. -
I havent tried EMs calculator, just the abrathatfits one, maybe I should try and see what I get! If it doesn't quad you a smaller cup may feel better, but these bras are definitely designed to project, not compress. Pain is no good, I'm still figuring this out. Would 70K be considered a pretty large bust for that band size? Like another commenter said, if so it may be the physics of a projected bra just putting strain on you're body....

Have you tried the EM calculator in the mean time? In the Abrathatfits I get 30J. I am between a 30 and 32 band, so I think the sister size 32HH is better for me. Some wear the same size in EM than in other UK brands and others have to size up. I thought I was one of those that have to size up, I'm not so sure anymore. Maybe the wires would be too narrow in a smaller size? :S

I've actually tried to use it on 2 different browsers and it won't calculate the size. I put in my measurements and hit the button and it just sits there?? I was super curious but it's not working for some reason for me!

Yes the same happened to me too! I get no result. I tried with firefox and edge. Also on my phone, nothing worked. It used to work a few months ago. Must be a bug on the site.

I tried Firefox and Chrome do all that's left IE lol

no it's a total glitch. I thought it was just becauase I have a mac.I tried safari, chrome and firefox, and it wouldn't work on any of them.

helpfulI think it’s too big. Your side profile is a bit torpedo-y and that’s usually a sign the cup is too big on me, even though I fill the cup out. I need my tissue more compressed to my chest to be comfortable.

Thanks for your comment:) From looking at pictures I thought that the "torpedo" projected pointy look is normal in BM. Because the bra is so deep and projected. I also prefer to have my tissue close to chest for support. I even like some more shallow bras (CK Victory, Elomi sports) because they feel more supportive. But I'm worried that it's not healthy to compress breast tissue? On the other side, neck pain from unsupportive bra is not good either...

I think it’s fine if that’s what is comfortable to you. Personally, my skin is not holding my breast tissue to my chest and the more the tissue moves around the more discomfort I feel during the day. I feel best when I get a firm compression towards my chest. I know not everyone feels like that though. And there’s a line between being smashed and being compressed for me too.
-
Clarification: I just think that, thinking of your history with bras, you need a cup that gathers your breasts to your chest rather than pushing them out to be comfortable and to keep your back from hurting. The bra band has to do less work cantilevering your bra cups when there is less tissue pushed outward as well, which probably means less strain on your back and neck.
-
Yes I think you are right. I remember having trouble with projected bras like Panache Jasmine or Cleo Marcie, they weren't supportive. I always preferred Panache Ariza that everyone hated because it's so shallow over them. I just thought that I have to size down a lot in deep bras with stetchy lace to get proper support. How many cups would you size down? Or give up on the style?
What do you mean by "my skin is not holding my breast tissue to my chest", you mean when wearing a bra or no bra? Like very soft boobs that don't hold shape when braless? Mine are like that. They got even softer after weight loss. -
Yes, my breasts are also getting softer- I have very dense heavy tissue and they don’t have much shape so I need a bra to hold everything against my chest wall now.
-
I mean I think this style is fine as long as the wires don’t get too narrow on you. Considering the depth of your Victory bra and that the height of this bra is substantial, I would try a 70J.

Thanks for your comment. Yes I also noticed that the BM is taller. I think Ewa even recommends to size down in BM compared to other bras. My 70K - Ewa Michalak » Sf Gładzioch Beż (849) is a better fit, because it is less tall. I also noticed that the BM Malachit is even taller than my BM Antonina in the same size :(
