Bra fitting help » Fabric wrinkling bottom center of cups

Issue resolved
I adjusted the way I wore my bra.
Original problem
I like this bra. It’s my first Ewa Michalak. I don’t think its the best for my asymmetry and possibly still not enough projection. Please advise on fit issues and what model may be better.

helpfulThere’s a couple different reasons why the wire might hurt or ride down. The most likely is that it doesn’t match your imf. You might need a flatter, narrower, or wider wire. You might need a taller or shorter wire. Look at where the wire curves upward. Is it wide enough for your roots there? How about at the center? Does it sit on breast tissue?
If the wire matches your imf then the cup might not be the right shape for you. You might need more space at the wire, but it’s also possible you need more room at the center. You can try to size up in the cup but the wires will get wider. You can also try an extender or hooking on the last hooks to see if either of those help. Experimentation can lead to surprising realizations sometimes.
You can check out other brands or if you love EM you can try other styles. BM is a good one as it looks to me like you need more center room.

helpfulWhat happens if you try to pull the cups up more? Do they sag back down and wrinkle or do they stay up over your apex?

It got rid of the wrinkling, which is awesome, but it hurts now. :/

Buttercupsss Where does it hurt? How is the wire width?
-
It hurts underneath my breast, where I tried to raise the band a bit....guess I should not have messed with the band position.
-
Wire width seems okay, I have a lot of underarm fat with this bra but I figured that was due to my recent weight loss (extra squish) and very snug band.
-
Does anyone think I need a wider gore?
-
I just added a new pic of it pulled up.
-
Well the pictures with it pulled up do look better, but if you're uncomfortable then something is "off". When you take the bra off, are the wire marks following your IMF (inframmamary fold)?
-
I believe so but I am not positive. I think I may have a ‘non-traditional inframmamary fold’. (Something I read about at herroom.com).
-
Well maybe if you're able to pull the cups up but not the band you may get at least a somewhat better fit. If the band hurts pulled up then maybe you won't be able to pull it up as much. It might be that the bra is not as projected right at the underwire compared to what you need.
-
If this is the case, I need different projection, Wilderness1 , do you or anyone have any suggestions?
-
Buttercupsss It actually looks to me like the gore is riding up one of your breasts, meaning you might need a narrower or lower gore. I would try going up a cup size, and maybe also try a plunge? I don't know how the PL cut compares to the SF cut though.
-
sorry Buttercupsss I'm not sure on what you could try, but you can always post that question on the main page and see what others think. Good luck

I did a lot of analyzing when I took the bra off tonight. The wires are following my IMF but about 1/2” wider in every direction...does this mean I need more narrow wires? Any idea? Wilderness1
-
Buttercupsss It definitely means you would fit into narrower wires, but imo it's not a huge deal if wires are a bit too wide unless you're uncomfortable or something else about the fit isn't working. Sometimes wires that are too wide will be hard to get into your IMF or they'll slide down after awhile. Unfortunately going up a cup size will mean slightly wider wires, but I do think you probably need cups that are a bit deeper which is why I recommended it.

if it's hurting right under your breasts from the underwire it might not be projected enough. I have the same problem. If it's too shallow but in the right spot my boobs kind push the underwire outward so it digs into my chest at an angel and HURTS.

helpfulIt does look like its not projected enough, esp at the bottom. In the top of the size range, SF is very projected, but it seems not so much in your size. Idk what is projected in your size range

Even in the last photo (#5)? dbmamaz still not enough projection?
-
i mean, i think the reason you have to pull it up is because your breasts are trying to go to the most projected part of the cup, and rising out of the bottom of the cup because the bottom of the cup is not giving you the immediate projection you need.
Like hte bra expects your breast so slope slowly up from the bottom but your boob comes out almost straight from your body at the bottom. its easiest to see in the side view.
if it stays up comfortably when you pull it up, then thats fine - honeslty i'd even try going up a cup size and seeing how it fits, if it wasnt for how challenging it is to return ewa bras

Good food for thought cupandahalf I have seen some websites suggest using a flexible ruler to measure your IMF...I may try to incorporate my IMF measurement.
Does BM provide more center room?
This is such a goose chase! Thanks for pitching in :)
